Quick poll for you guys

I’m think of starting an indie music youtube channel (not too dissimilar to wonderful channels such as IndieAir, Wave of Good Noise, etc. though slightly more catered to my music taste). I wanted to try a different name though, and ya girl is strugglin’. I’ve thrown around a few ideas such as the following:

  • Fresh Indie
  • Mellow Sounds
  • Indie Unwind
  • Serene Sounds

If you guys could help me out by commenting your fave of the above (or suggesting something entirely new!) I would appreciate it soso much!

If replies don’t work on this for whatever reason (I’m using a work computer lol) pls message/reblog/send me a chat!

Thankyou heaps for your input everyone!! I’m definitely leaning towards Indie Unwind myself, but @tequilabumbum8 (stellar username btw) has also suggested Indie Stream, which I really like as well. So I’ve narrowed it down to those two - pls let me know which you guys prefer and hopefully I get something start up tomorrow!

PROMISE THIS IS THE LAST ONE

So you guys have (almost unanimously) opted for Indie Unwind, which I think I’ll go with! I definitely hear the alternative advice on how it may limit the types of songs I can post, but I usually tend to lean towards moodier, mellower tunes and it’s a good way to distinguish the channel from others that cater to more upbeat types of music.

I want to be able to do it right and avoid any copyright issues (a la this Tumblr) so it may take a lil bit of time, but I will defs let you guys now when I’ve started the channel up! Thanks so much for your support, looking forward to embarking on this new project with you all <3

I made this playlist for an upcoming roadtrip to Queensland AU with my partner, and I thought u know what… what an excellent masterpiece I have put together. I’m going to publish it so that others may share in its excellence 😛

I made this playlist with the open roads of outback NSW and the Queensland coast in mind, but it’s equally suited to any kind of long roadtrip anywhere around the world.

The mix contains 16 hours of roadtrip-worthy, mostly upbeat indie/rock music. Some oldie-goodies (Crowded House, David Bowie, Cold Chisel), some classic indie (Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Arcade Fire) and some very new tunes (from the latest albums of ALVVAYS, The National, etc.) Best listened to on shuffle. I hope you enjoy! x

are you on any social media or nah?:)

I am :) My instagram is here but facebook, etc I prefer to keep private!

Future movements

So, after the results of the last post, I’ve decided to move most of my activity to Spotify. Apart from a regularly updated fave tunes discovered in 2017 playlist (it’s already pretty populated - I’m hoping to add 2 new songs per week), I’ll also make the occasional themed playlists. To keep up with these, you can follow my account. I’m still keeping the old indaymusic playlist, but it’s been archived. I also have a favourites playlist on there so you can keep up with my constantly changing favourite songs.

For those of you who can’t access Spotify, I have made a Youtube playlist that will essentially be a duplicate of 2017 Spotify one. I might copy the other playlists across at some point too.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone! I hope you enjoy the music :) sorry that tumblr and 8tracks have been such phenomenal pains in le ass.

Hi all,

So as you’ve probably noticed, there hasn’t been a whole lot of activity on this account or limitlessplaylist lately. 8tracks has sorta gotten less and less functional and uploading music onto tumblr is still an issue. I still have a fair bit of music to share with you guys on a pretty regular basis however, so I was wondering what you thought the best platform for sharing that would be - whether it’s perhaps a daily/bi-weekly updated spotify playlist, a regular text post with Youtube links, or anything else. Maybe there is some other incredible music sharing platform out there that I don’t know about yet.

In any case, all suggestions are welcome! What are your thoughts?

october faves. // and the year just keeps flying on by! this month's collection of tunes is probably one of my faves tbh. there's new the head and the heart (shit it's good). new bon iver (i'm cryin). some actual electronic in there (i know right?!). still more folk than you can poke a stick at though. hope you guys enjoy!

september faves. // it's springggggggg! yis i know most of you will disagree bc for some reason very few people in the northern hemisphere grasp the idea that down south we experience the opposite season, but anyhoo. i've got some jauntier tunes to reflect the warmer days in this mix - hope y'all like it!

july faves. // jfc how is it july already?? in any case, here are some more tunes for the month. it's mid-winter still and I'm dying in the coldest city in australia (I don't know if that's technically true but my god, I'm pretty certain it is). i'm feeling quite a bit better this month and I think the playlist reflects this state of mind - it's a lil more upbeat. sorta. as always, enjoy!

june faves. // i've returned to my chill folk-y roots for this one (but did I ever really leave tho? not rlly). this mix is a little sad and the album art is a lil dreary (but still beautiful!); it's winter here in australia, & I'm just dealing with the hangover of a super emotional may and a bit of a broken heart. *cue tears*

may faves. // more tunesssss for y'all. I tried to be a little bit more upbeat this month instead of defaulting to just chill/folk stuff (though there are still a couple of those in there as well); let me know if I succeeded in any way at all lmaooo. as always, enjoy!

for the heavy-hearted. // i'd say this mix is for when your heart is broken, though it's not quite that serious. but it is, almost. it's the choking heaviness weighing your chest down; it's extreme disappointment and regret and fatigue and rejection and anger and when you're on the point of sobbing, but you don't let yourself because no, he's not fucking worth it.
