biggest tng fail was not having a spot-centric episode where she explores the enterprise
Dash Thing ™
Episode where an alien threat disables every humanoid on the Enterprise and then there's a Baby's Day Out style sequence of events where Spot makes their way to the bridge and accidentally fires a photon torpedo at the alien ship
or what if Data is the only one still conscious but also incapacitated so he has to pspspspsps Spot through the comms to go to the bridge and fire a photon torpedo at the alien ship

"Initiating emergency protocol Delta-4-Tango-Alpha. Puss puss puss, here Spot." the flat tones echoed from the comms in an eerily silent ship. Spot started awake and trotted out to from the Soft Room, looking around for their Dad. She heard Dad's voice...she meowed to announce themselves. When she got to where Dad sounded like, she didn't see Him. She say down and meowed again. The Door was.....open? There were lots of smells out there, but Dad said-
"Good cat. Puss puss puss. Come on."
she’s a 10 but she has 23 books on hold at her local library
happy glorious 25th of may
We get, rightfully imo, pretty sad and somber and naval-gazey about Discworld and Sir Terry on the 25th of May but I need everyone who might be discovering this series through this annual outpouring of love and sadness that these books are mostly just really fucking funny. Like, they're heart-wrenching and poignant but really they can only pull that off because they're also the funniest books ever written. There's a line near the end of Hogfather that, when I read it, made me feel more deeply connected to, like, the concept of humanity then I ever have before, but the book was only able to deliver that because the rest of it is about what if Santa Claus got kidnapped and a Big Skeleton had to take over his job? It's a patently ridiculous series but that is absolutely also where it's power comes from.
Reading Night Watch subsequent times is kind of like being Vimes in it:
You’ve seen what’s going to happen and know who’s going to die, and you understand there’s nothing you can do to really change anything, but you still plunge on forward, rooting for everyone along the way.
(And maybe, even though you know in your heart that the story is written, in the past tense, there’s still a tiny sliver of you that hopes.)
Self-taught sculptor Romain Langlais turned to bronze, a metal he now incorporates into works that are inspired by nature rather than man. His pieces visually pull apart the natural objects that surround us—building works that appear as bisected rocks, boulders, and tree trunks. These sculptures showcase glistening bronze protruding from their insides, unleashing the perceived inner energy of each object.
I think it’s time for us to all collectively return to the library. Get a card, go to a club meeting, volunteer on an off day, rent some equipment. You don’t even have to read a book. But since the digital world is rapidly becoming a subscription-only hellscape requiring a criminal amount of private personal information to use even CASUALLY, the library has become our last safe haven to just exist with information present and not have our labour or information exploited for money.
Not only are they not exploiting your information, they’re actively trying to collect as little as possible, and will not turn over patron information without a warrant. In training at both libraries I’ve worked at, my supervisors have said almost verbatim that the reasoning is “we can’t give the cops information we don’t have.”
REMEMBER! IT'S NOT ABOUT WHO YOU LIKE MORE! IT'S ABOUT WHO'S SERVING!
Moment of truth…
Keep in mind: I ONLY included the films in which (according to Wikipedia), Miyazaki was the SOLE director. The only one I couldn’t squeeze on here was his latest work post-retirement (How Do You Live?). Also, alas, none of the other Ghibli films count, so don’t ask for Arietty, or Grave of the Fireflies, etc.
Godspeed and happy voting! ❤
The book selected from this poll will move on to the next competition!
Holes is the gold standard by which other children’s books should be measured. Why is it in 4th.

The thing with amateur local theater is it is almost always bad BUT keeping it alive is the most important thing
The joys of artistic expression cannot be limited to talented people everybody needs it to survive
Especially if you go in with the understanding that their budget is tiny so the sets and costumes aren’t going to be on par with professional shows. There’s talented people in every community, even if they’re not on par with someone who’s made it their job. And I’d take the vibes of an amateur show where the cast gets along and is having fun over the vibes of professionals doing their jobs any day.

big reminder to go into your blog settings( as well as ALL sideblogs ) & turn this shit off which is on by default<3 don’t let weirdos blaze your rp posts !
To turn off this feature, go to your account (the little icon that looks like a person). This opens a drop-down menu. Click on “Settings” (the one with the gear). Scroll down to the Blogs menu and click your blog’s name.
This opens another little menu. Usually it’s just where you edit your blog’s appearance. Scroll down until you see the “Blaze” option. Right now, it includes an orange tag stating ‘New!’. Click the button next to it so it switches from blue to dark.
You need to do this for each of your blogs individually.
Okay fuck this
Chime off in the tags if more than one applies to you
