The Target exclusive vinyl is INFERIOR to the actual one idc
imagine kit and ty going out on a beautiful date somewhere in nature because nature is beautiful and it's either really bright and beautiful and sunny or the moon is casting a blue glow and when you turn your head up you see the stars twinkling and they head out and just stay there with each other, in each others company for hours like this day could never end and they're laying down with each other, looking at the sky or the trees or the grass and ty can do it he's gonna say it...
but then kit sees a duck. scene proceeds to document usual reaction when herondale sees duck.
Kit likes ducks tho ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
this might be an unpopular opinion (im not sure cuz i havent looked through the tag yet) but i would honestly rather have twp be a trilogy because i feel like the tension between ty and kit would be drawn out even longer, perhaps longer than it should be. we've seen with literally every main tsc couple that they never truly get to be happy until the final book, so im worried that this would mean that kit and ty would have even more obstacles in their relationship than needed
its possible that cassie wouldn't go that route with them because of their history in tda, but then dru would probably fall victim to the end book happy ending if it wasnt kitty.
on the other hand, i can understand that the main plot/conflict might need more than three books to be planned out and wrapped up, but im worried that either the development of Dru/Dru and whoever she does or doesnt end up with or Ty and Kit will be negatively impacted by this.
obviously, ill still be happy with however it ends up going bc i love cassie and these books but i just had to point this out lol
This is actually smth I've seen several people worry about, so I'm gonna give my two cents
I think that, for the story of TWP, four books are ideal and honestly a little perfect. We have so much plot to go through and so much conflict and things to solve already, with more coming. I think it's too much to shove into three books, because, at the end of the day, people are reading for the characters.
Speaking of, the main worry of this post seems to be about relationship development and how it could possibly suffer, so I don't know if this thought will help or what but- we don't know the plan for TWP. We don't know what route Cassie is planning on having Kit and Ty go down.
Now, of course, that could easily mean that your fears come to life and the relationship of Kit x Ty and Dru x Ash (c'mon y'all. we know who she'll end up with (wonder how THAT statement will age)).
BUT- we've also already seen how Cassie deals with a longer-series type of romantic relationship. She pulls the two characters apart and has them each pine for the other while they're separated. (I mean, how often were Clary and Jace around each other in those last three books?) So if there are gonna be four books, I think it's a fair idea to have them get separated by the end of book 2, find each other by the end of book 3, and be in a relationship at some point during book 4.
ALSO, just because it's a three book series doesn't mean Kit and Ty's tension wouldn't be drawn out longer than it should. I would argue that it would probably actually be worse in a trilogy because we have too much plot to go through, and the characters would either be too big of a focus or get shoved to the back in order for the plot to move on.
I'm relieved that Cassie is at least considering a four book series, because I don't want her to have to sacrifice the good story telling mixed with plot that I know she's capable of just because she didn't want to make it four books lol
This is probably written like shit and idk if what I'm saying is even coming across correctly but you know what I do know? I was fr trying to take a break from writing an essay and I came on here and then wrote this is one sitting smh oh how the motivation goes.
If TWP is actually. Like fr gonna be four books I think it would have been funny if Cassie didn't have say anything, so when the third TWP book (what we would've thought was the FINAL TSC book) came out everyone would be so confused and angry and then she could pop in w a "oh YEAH haha haven't you heard?"
I know you’re going to have a break before writing twp, but do you have any idea how long the series is going to be? Will we get another trilogy, or a longer series like tmi?
I actually don’t know yet. I had been considering making it four books, which would put it between TMI and TDA/TID.
will we ever get a scene or reference to the "i did not choose this life. 1904" engraving in the scholomance that ghost livvy found in gotsm? i had thought it would be a plot point in chot given the year, but it wasn't. was it meant to be, and you changed the location to the silent city instead?
No, it was never meant to be a plot point in TLH. Only Chain of Thorns takes place at all in 1904, and then probably only in the first week or so of 1904. The majority of the book takes place in 1903. The Scholomance is never mentioned in TLH because it just doesn’t have anything to do with the story. Nobody we know is there or ever has a reason to go. I know the dates are close to each other, but there is nothing else connecting that detail from GOTSM to TLH, and everything has to happen in some year or other! I recall when Kelly and I wrote that story, and we never discussed that piece of writing as connecting to Last Hours or anything else - it’s meant to be a commentary on being a Shadowhunter, more than anything; it’s possible Livvy may come across the ghost of whoever wrote in in TWP, though!
Will we see some of TLH characters again in Thule? Maybe? 🥰
Ah, alternate dimensions. Thule was created in about 2007 in book time - it was an alternate reality in which Clary died in City of Lost Souls. So in a weird way, the TLH characters existed in the historical past of Thule, but that past isn’t something you can visit. Only TLH characters who would still be alive in the present day (Magnus, Tessa) would ever have existed in Thule.
Hey Cassie!
I was curious about your new books. Do you plan on making them as long as TSC has been?🤣🤣
Sword Catcher is a little over two hundred thousand words, which is about the length of Chain of Gold, maybe a bit longer, but not as long as Chain of Thorns. Fantasy tends toward the longer side!
Are Jace and the Blackthorns the only characters that are descended from the main TLH characters? With the rest being descended from the babies?
We don’t know yet — there isn’t a family tree covering those definitive connections. I would say that it’s splitting a very fine hair to differentiate between whether Alastair is, say, someone’s great great great uncle or great great great grandpa. They’re still about the same amount related and share ancestors.
Congrats To Our Winners!

It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it. With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th. Pre-order now at http://taylor.lnk.to/SpeakNowTaylorsVersion 💜💜💜
SPEAK NOW TAYLOR'S VERSION HOLY SHITTTT
I'M FREAKING OUT OMFG
