The next time I see one of those “millenials will be photographing the end of the world” posts I’m gonna scream because let me tell you, I just went through a natural disaster and Snapchat literally saved people’s lives. Thanks to snapchat I knew exactly what roads were flooded, what stores were open, what my HOUSE looked like (since I wasn’t there), and which shelters I could go to. People were snapping/tweeting asking to be rescued and THEY WERE. I didn’t get my news from the tv, I saw it in real time on social media and I will never not be grateful for that.

For anyone interested in a review of the Chinese drama Love O2O…

This is legit my third time watching this drama. Not too far out there for a more distinguished drama cynosure but a good number for your average viewer. This drama has found a place on my favorites list and here is why:

As far as I could dig up (with minimal googling) homosexual content is strictly filtered out of media much like nudity and violence in the US. In no way is there a moment where these two come out and say anything related to a confession and the idea is poked fun of a few times but this isn’t just me (and a hundred other fangirls) idea out of nowhere. These two have a surprising connection from their past. They are polar opposites that fit together like a hufflepuff slytherin duo. There is undeniable chemistry and obvious hints in the writing and directing that make KO and HaoMei a real viable as close as the Chinese can get to a cannon gay ship. (Of course if anyone has more information on the regulations of chinese television I’d love to hear it!)

As soon as the main couple is together, they are stuck together. There is a lot of jealousy coming from outsiders that causes alot of gossip about our main lady WeiWei but no matter what gossip spreads XiaoNai is always on her side and willing to move his fence to accommodate her tree (just watch the show). This was love at first site people. In and out of game. So pure. But not too pure of you know what I mean!

Did I mention 1/3 of the action happens in a MMORP? Cause it does. And while these graphics are nothing too fancy it fits the theme of the game within the show. Their characters are photoshopped to hell and the graphics are a little blocky and I love it.

A little extra tidbit: Love O2O means Love Online to Online meaning their love extends through the worlds. These two are married in game. So cute.

Yes that’s right another name for this show is Just One Smile Is Alluring AND they are not talking about her smile NO SIR have you seen this smile? Aparantly not GO WATCH THE SHOW they’re married in game so he literally calls her my wife throughout the show. His friends call her sister-in-law. It kills me. I’m dead.

It’s a young adult psychological thriller which story deals with three girls who are the target of a crazy and sick killer and stalker, that send them private messages and violent video/photos on socials, scaring and blackmailing them. The acting it’s great and the chemistry between in and out the set it’s something amazing.

Now there are a few issues with the platform where the show aired in the past, but if you are from USA you can watch it on awesomeness tv on YouTube and on Hulu (which it’s also on uk and other countries I think). If you’re not from these places, the show it’s geoblocked, but ask and I’ll give you a working streaming link.

Season 3 it’s been already wrapped, but unfortunately, with the platform problems, the date air it’s unknown and the fandom is afraid the serie could be cancelled even before s3.

There’s the part where you, please please please!, go watch it and let your mind blow by the loves/friends/murders dynamic of the show and then go on Twitter and help this little fandom to save the show with the hashtag #Netflixsavetagged, hoping to save it (if the show really need to be saved, it’s not confirmed cancelled or shout down, but, you know… Just in case).

If you’re European, in a couple of weeks you will be denied any and all access to fandom contents on Tumblr and everywhere else on the internet. Here’s why.

On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the “Link Tax” and the “Censorship Machines” articles.

Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you won’t be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because it’s all copyrighted material. And you won’t also be able to share, enjoy or download other’s contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.

But not everything’s lost yet. There’s another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.

What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.

When I worked in fast food for minimum wage, they would yell at us and lecture us about “stealing” fries and burgers (while we had to throw out TONS of food every day) as though the giant billion-dollar corporations of McDonald’s and Sonic couldn’t afford to give their employees something to eat (while not even paying us a living wage).

Now I work at an upscale restaurant (it’s fancy, like celebrities eat there fairly often) and not only do I make WAY better money but they give us 2 free meals a day (eaten on the clock) and they’re GOOD. Today I got baked cod, spring rolls, rice pilaf, stir fry, and mashed potatoes and eggplant. Oh, and free espresso and juice. From this restaurant owned by a local man who is in no way a billionaire.

Obviously money is not the issue, valuing your employees as people is.

I worked in a little grandmom&pop Thai restaurant for a while. Even when the restaurant wasn’t bringing in great money, my boss (the grandpop), who was the chef, would make me a hot dinner every single night. If we were busy he would put it in a takeout box for me to take home. The first night I worked there, I wasn’t expecting it and he handed me a plate of chicken curry. I was embarrassed and said, “oh, I’m a vegetarian, you don’t have to make me dinner!” And then he went and made me vegetable curry.
