plasma donation faq

what is plasma used for?

life saving medicine and therapies. plasma medicine is extremely powerful and some types have been considered miracle medicines because of how potent they are. there is a huge shortage which has been made worse by natural disasters the past few years so plasma treatments can cost upwards of millions for one person

how does plasma benefit you?

I take that potent medicine. without it, I would potentially already be dead. the medicine helps calm some of my conditions and has eliminated certain aspects of my suffering to an extent no other treatment ever has. it extends my life and makes that life so much better.

can I donate plasma directly to you?

no

I am/have XYZ, so I probably cannot donate plasma right?

plasma has different requirements for donation than blood. do not count yourself out!

where can I donate plasma?

how does plasma donation work?

similar to blood donation, but a machine gently extracts the plasma from your blood and then gives your blood back. it takes an hour or two.

is it painful?

I have heard it feels about the same as donating blood.

how much do I get paid?

some places pay around $50 or more, but it depends on where you donate. some people help pay bills by regularly donating plasma!

first of all enjoy knowing that you just directly helped save people’s lives. part of you just became part of someone’s miracle, part of someone’s ability to live, and part of someone being able to live more comfortably and safely. you may even end up a part of me! you now have massive bragging rights as not many people donate plasma. this works as a great conversation topic or topic for an essay for school or just as a bunch more good person points to you. you just took direct action to save lives, and I thank you for it, so feel good about yourself. message me if you just donated plasma so I can publicly thank you!

Kazuda Xiono: Is an Asian young adult who is struggling to be independent and wants to be special because he was raised by overprotective parents who did everything for him because they thought they were doing the best for him but it ended up making him unable to do anything for himself and being used to getting what he wants, and their high standards make them easily disappointed by Kaz no matter what he does by his own decisions and they want nothing to do with Kaz whenever he fails to meet or succeed their expectations and may go as far to ridicule their own kid, and the idea of talking about more vulnerable matters like feelings never works because his parents believe he is just being whiny and they get mad at him for it, so as a result, Kaz is rather immature and naive for a college-aged kid and thus would be the first to lose in a dog-eat-dog world, and people view him as pathetic for being unable to take care of himself and don't like having to hold his hand so he can feel better, and perhaps deep down, he wants to feel special to substitute the unconditional affection and approval he always wanted from his parents.

“In an incredibly bold move, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced last week that, beginning in 2019,works that do not demonstrate inclusivity in their production practices will no longer be eligible for its annual awards, the BAFTAs, often considered the U.K. equivalent of the Oscars. Eligible projects must showcase this in two of the following ways, as the BBC reported: On-screen characters and themes, senior roles and crew, industry training and career progression, and audience access and appeal to underrepresented audiences.” 

The angry whites in the comments really tell me that this was a necessary and good decision to combat the overpowering whiteness of film. Representation, on and off screen, matters.
