This scene always stuck with me when I watched this episode for the first time. Shou is staring Ryou down with anger in his eyes while Ryou continues walking past him, not even acknowledging his little brother’s presence. And Judai just watches them, worrying about what Shou will do and perplexed on how Ryou acted in his duel with Fubuki. This scene didn’t need any dialogue to be incredible.
I watched the first 20ish episodes of GX and a few random episodes from the second season 15 years ago and wholly abandoned the show only to return to it this year and watch it entirely (subbed version). However, despite forgetting everything about the show and characters back then, THIS MOMENT STAYED from one of those random few episodes that I always recalled whenever I stumbled upon either Syrus, Zane, or Power Bond (I watched it in the Croatian dub which basically dubbed English version, hence why I use dub names). Their relationship left such a strong impression on me, starting from the whole sibling drama over Power Bond and Syrus's insecurity in his dueling skills, and then (since I haven't watched the majority of the first and second seasons, including the underground duel) suddenly Zane is all dressed in black, became a villain for some reason, Sho moved to Ra Yellow. He confidently made a promise to himself that he'll duel Zane, I was mind-blown and kinda bitter I didn't have access to the rest of the series and was left wondering what the heck happened to Zane and did they duel in the end. I forgot many things from GX when I watched it for the first time, including this episode, but this scene I've never forgot.
