Lie or Dare - Frank Iero x Reader

Request: Hey! On your imagine book can you write a frank imagine? But the reader is drunk and accidently tells frank they like him?!?! Warnings: alcohol, angst, fluff Word count: 2 781

“Come to this party, Frank. It will be fun, Frank. I promise, Frank,” Frank mumbled to himself in annoyance as he stood in the corner of a living room whose owner he did not even know.

He always felt misplaced at these college parties, and he was only here because of your big, beautiful, pleading eyes. You had mentioned over the last few weeks how much you would like a party to take the edge of, with all the stress you had, so Frank knew you would jump at the first opportunity you would get, and he felt obliged to go with you.

He looked around the room, his eyes gliding over all the people, intelligent, educated, well-manned people. Not people like him, at least not in sight. No punks, no musicians, no one who spend their early twenties driving around the country in an old, beaten up van, getting stopped by the police regularly because they thought ‘my chemical romance’ was some code for drugs, instead of a band name. It was not like Frank was ashamed of his life, of what he was doing. He was in no way inferior to these people around here, who spend their days in libraries and lectures, learning math and geology and physics and literature and what not. But he had a feeling that they thought they were superior. And he knew that every single one of them would have a better shot at you than him, and that was what made him feel sick.

Imagine Syn making you laugh…

A/N: Here’s a little fic for a fandom I don’t think really exists anymore. Well, if anything, I wrote it for me. :)

“Dude, Bri, you’re not looking very sexy with that face you’ve got going on there,” Matt teased from the seat beside you in the car. You heard him, but you weren’t paying much attention. Your diaphragm was going to collapse from the constant laughter you had endured over the last twenty minutes.

“Shut up, Matt. You’re just mad that you aren’t this funny,” Brian retorted, grinning back at you. “I call this one Blue Steel,” he drawled playfully, before contorting his face into what you could only be described as a fish face mixed with a baby about to cry. Matt was right, it wasn’t the most attractive face in the world, but it made you laugh harder than you could ever remember.

“Hey, dude, you’re going to make her shit her pants at this rate. Matt and I are the ones next to her, so for our sake, please let her breathe!” Johnny boomed from the seat on the other side of you. Zacky glanced up at you silently from the driver’s seat, making sure everything was actually okay, then peered back at the road.

Have you ever just sit in a corner looking like you don't care, but in your head all you could ever think of is...

Ok but you know what I absolutely love?

I fucking love the fact that Five hasn’t even been in this time period for an entire goddamn minute and he’s immediatly ready to jump into the fray the moment he spots his siblings, no questions asked.

Who started it? Who are we fighting? Why are we fighting them? How the hell did my siblings get stuck in the middle of a war between the US and Soviet Union?

Who cares. Whoever they’re fighting I’m fighting, questions can be asked later.

Like.. don’t ever say Five isn’t the most ride or die person in this show cause his entire existence revolves around keeping his family alive and safe and he’s literally willing to let the entire world die as long as he can secure his sibling’s safety (as we saw in season 1 with the deal he struck with The Handler).

i’m sorry but can we talk about luther for a second? because no matter how much you hated him in season one, you can’t help but feel for this poor man who traveled so far and so long, the umbrella academy’s designated number one brought low enough that he deigns to beg for spare change and still came up seven cents short.

and when their father outright tells him that he hates children so why would he even adopt seven, let alone somebody like him with “that scruffy face, poor hygiene, and grotesque simian proportions,” you can practically hear his heart breaking because, just like that, the last piece of the family he’d hoped to find is gone, and it’s like being stranded in space again.

only this time, it’s ten times worse, because all the people he loves are right here within arm’s reach but he doesn’t even have a single clue if the others survived traveling so far back in time, let alone where (when?) to start looking for them, and he slowly realizes that all his worst fears have come true: he’s failed their father; he’s failed his siblings, the very people he’d sworn to protect and what good is super strength if he can’t even keep his family together; and even after four long years on the moon, luther has never felt more alone.

can we just,, talk about this scene?

the raw emotion... the slight waver in his voice... the vulnerability he's trying so hard to hide bc this is probably the first time he's reached out like this– he's relied on himself so much for the past four decades, help is nothing but a miracle for him.

the way his voice goes deathly quiet when revealing he had to see them die a second time. the bitter, sardonic quirk of his lips, trying to downplay his emotions bc he's been at this for two damn weeks– he's not going to break now.

and the flashback? the chatter being drowned out by the gun fire, the crushing sound of tanks, the roar of jets overhead. the smell of war and gunpowder and death being so suffocating and overwhelming. having to realize he couldn't save his family again, bc he wasn't there. he can only hope and pray that this time, it'll work. for every time he has tried, he failed. he couldn't save them the first time, so he'll be damned if he couldn't save them a second time.
