this is everything

The etymology for "Ireland" is just incredibly recursive.
It comes from the Old English "Īrland", made up of "Īras" and "Land".
Land means... land. And "Īras" meant... "The Irish" or "Ireland".
"Īras" comes from the Old Irish word "Ériu", which means... Ireland.
"Ériu" predates writing, but reconstructions of proto-Celtic believe it comes from a word they spell as "ɸīweriyū", which means... land.
"Ireland" translates as "The Land of the People of the Land of the Land".
It's made up of four provinces, "The Land of Big Mom", "The Descendants of Conn", "The Land of the Spear People", and "The Land Of The Beard People".
The Irish for "Province" is "cúige", which translates as "one fifth". Because there used to be five provinces, but the fifth one got subsumed into the rest. Mostly by the Conns and the Spear People.
It was called "The Middle One".
I fucking hate James Tissot’s paintings because in ALL OF THEM there is ALWAYS someone staring right at you, but it’s not always immediately visible. You just feel watched by this mf. Sometimes the little shit is right there at the centre, but others the bastard is just gazing from the distance, it is CREEPY, my guys
STOP STARING AT ME, THIS IS DISCONCERTING AS FUCK
I think this is hilarious. We’ve been caught.
In James Tissot paintings, art observes you.
I love this actually it really brings you into the scene. It denies you the psychological position of outside observer and makes you feel as if you were almost there.
Always reblog James Tissot
Not to continue to be insane BUT
it's fascinating to see Anton and Paul Baker's reactions immediately after the kiss. Paul Baker, easy-going, nice to everyone, immediately looks guilty. Despite the fact that Issa was the one telling them to kiss and she had lied to him earlier that day! Not hating Issa, just pointing out that arguably he has less to feel guilty for, unless he realized how deep those feelings were.
Meanwhile Anton, who is a people pleaser yet also fairly negative, has to hide his smile.
Anton was even happy to keep going, but it's Paul Baker's hand on his chest and pulling away that stops him.
Anton then tries to break the tension, as the people pleaser, by pointing out that he did what everyone wanted, while Paul Baker is smiling and trying to go back to his laid back smiley personality.
And after the subject is changed (thank you Samir) and they settle to watch a movie, we have them trying so hard not to look at each other. With Issa quite literally in between them.
This shit is gonna be so messy. Fuck yeah. Also wanted to mention this post's breakdown because *chef kiss* so perfect.
And before anyone bullies me for overanalyzing a kiss for a tv couple 1. I did this for Nick and Jess back in the day for their first kiss in good old 2013, practically an essay and I was actually a little bummed no one expanded on it 2. I am so stressed about my real life, let me have fun
can you imagine being THIS cool
Context.
WHY IS THE CONTEX EVEN BETTER?!
"slut era" i say as i rot and decay in my bedroom and watch the years pass me by as i miss out on core experiences other people my age are having while i think about the past
two year anniversary of my vocabulary being permanently changed for the worse
“I spent most of my life waiting for God to love me. And then I realized the only thing that matters is I love God. It's the same with you. I have loved you my whole life. I've never loved anyone but you. You were my great consuming love. And most people don't get one of those. I did. I have no regrets.“
