mutuals, if you're okay with it, pls drop me a line (you can do it privately if you'd rather) and tell me where/how to follow you across the various webbed sites.

in the meantime, i will be here posting til security chases me out. <3

the next time you have two hours and fifteen-ish minutes, i would recommend this video! it made me feel things.

no wrong answers; big or small, what got you through this week?

Trump’s defunding of CPB means a massive loss to all local PBS and NPR public broadcasting stations. But based on their ability to get sponsorships, advertisers, other grants, private donations, state funding, and membership subscribers, some stations will end up hit a lot harder than others.

And some of the hardest hit stations, the ones who had been relying most heavily on this federal funding, are Native American and Indigenous Nations’ local stations. Radio stations in rural areas and on reservations can often be a really important source of locally relevant information—and publicly available media in Native languages.

Unfortunately, many Native American-serving public media stations listed on Adopt A Station don't have donation or support pages that I can find (KGHR - Greyhills Academy in the Navajo Nation in Arizona; KGVA - The Voice of the Aaniiih and Nakoda Nations in Montana; KSHI - The Voice of the A:shiwi in Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico; KCUW - Umatilla Reservation Community Radio in Oregon; KTNN - The Voice of the Navajo Nation broadcasting from Arizona; KUHB - The Voice of the Pribilofs in St. Paul, Alaska; KDSP - Sand Point in Alaska... if you can find any, let me know! And certainly if you're in the area, show them some support!)

But one that's actively running a fundraiser that could absolutely use more support is KUYI - Hopi Radio in Arizona. Broadcasting from the seat of the Hopi government in Kykotsmovi, KUYI includes local news from the Hopi reservation and programming in the Hopi language. They're also set to lose 60% of their funding with the CPB funds rescinded. Donate to support them here—they’re aiming to raise $25,000 for their 25th anniversary, and as of the time of this posting have raised $1,660.

HELP ME REACH MY TOP SURGERY GOALS!

I have a top surgery consultation on March 12, 2026. Since I am on Medicaid, and USA gender affirming care has already been up in the air since 47 got elected, I have started raising funds for my top surgery, which will likely happen 6-9 months after my consultation date.

My official GoFundMe has my IRL name attached to it, which is not something I necessarily feel comfortable sharing to Tumblr at large at this time. However, if you have ever enjoyed my fics, if you have ever liked a bandom essay I've written, and you have a few dollars to spare, I would be forever grateful if you left me a tip on Ko-Fi!

Thanks all of you for sticking around! If we are mutuals and you'd like to donate to the actual GFM, please feel free to DM me. Love you all!!!

just wanted 2 let u know that world aint ready remains Up There for me in the list of lifechanging fics. it introduced me to the idea of being demi-sexual (which is something i'm still figuring out, but was made easier and better by enj in w.a.r) so. thank you. also ur characterisations remain absolutely incredible- especially bc you give such care to the more side characters like bahorel and joly and even marius. also w.a.r grantaire healed something in me and im so serious about that. he just like me fr. anyway thank yoy thank you thank you

Hey, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this message. I love that people can read World Ain't Ready and still get something out of it, and I'm so glad if my version of Grantaire helped you show some measure of grace to yourself. As someone who still struggles sometimes to be kind to my past (and tbh current) self, it means a lot to me that another person on that journey has gotten something from words I wrote. Also I love that you enjoyed the side characters; I had so much fun giving tiny windows into their stories.

do you plan on sending emails to the people who didn't get cast for "everyone leaves alive" to let them know or just to the people who did get cast? sorry i'm new to this kind of thing. also sorry if asking is like. bad etiquette or something

My goal is to send emails to every single person who auditioned by the end of Monday. It's going to take quite a while because while I was worried at one point about not getting enough auditions, in the end, we got a TON of them, including tons and tons of super talented people who didn't make the cut. But yeah, Monday is the plan!

Doing some light reading ahead of @crossingscon so I’ll have something to chat about with my fellow Guests of Honor: Jessica Day George, Seth Dickinson, and Megan Whalen Turner.

Crossings Con is a small speculative fiction convention featuring panels, discussion, and activities; I got a peek of the tentative lineup and I’m super excited for it!

This year, Crossings Con is August 15th through 17th in Philadelphia; more info at crossingscon.org and if that sounds fun, you should totally join us!

Making my bed and every single time it’s like, diversity win! etc etc—

The side of this cookie box implies it will reveal to you “which Greek legend” you are if only you scan the accompanying QR code, and all I can think is this would be an absolute minefield. Imagine learning that you are fated to become Tantalus or something. Scrying on the snack packaging only to find out you are Arachne and your hubris is like five minutes away from turning you into a spider. You complete some kind of online quiz on the cookie website and the results are just “Keep an eye out for swans ;)”

Hi! I really like your les mis fanfic “World Ain’t Ready” (honestly it’s one of my favorites), and I love the music in this fiction! So I wonder if I could get Bahorel’s playlists? Just, like, I really neeeeed to know the Enjolras song and all the other songs lol 🤣🙏 Thx a lot (and I totally get it if they are all created by your wonderful mind)!

Thank you, anon!

Generally I am of the opinion that everyone should get to decide for themselves what was on Bahorel's mixtapes. However, at this current historical moment, for some mysterious reason, I was craving a mix about tearing shit down anyway. My three rules were:

  • available when the story is set (2006)
  • protest music/some sort of rebellious message
  • eclectic

Here's what I've got! (spotify link)

I still wouldn't call this playlist "canon." Anyone who wants to make their own Bahorel style playlist should feel free! (Please tag me if you do!)

PS. remade the same playlist but on Tidal, for anyone who is avoiding using Spotify

Hey guys something fucking bad happened

KOSA/the kids online safety act has been reintroduced into legislature after it passed Senate last year and then got snubbed. It is not unlike the bill that just passed in the UK a few weeks ago. If you don't want what happened in the UK to happen here, now would be a good time to vocally oppose it.

Here is a petition that can be signed by Americans. Attached to the petition is an easy tool that allows you to call and leave messages for your representatives. I have already done so. You can also email your representatives by searching for their name, most have message submission boards as well. This thing died once, it can die again.

Please sign/share the petition and contact your representatives.

The Kickstarter for my audio drama pilot about a rock band secretly solving monster-related problems is currently at 95%. Thanks so much! If we get to 105%, I will write another song based on your prompts. (Plus I've added new stretch goals, including a microphone fund so I can cast people who don't yet have fancy recording setups.)

For reference, the previous songs:

Another huge thank you to everyone who supported the Kickstarter! Someday I will scoop my jaw off the floor, but not today.

And here is the whole EP on Bandcamp for $1 a track, just on the off chance that anyone wants such a thing!
