Suishinshi Masahide is one of my favorite Touken Danshi, and he calls himself the origin of Shin-shin Tou (the newest type of Katana).
Suishinshi and Minamotono Kiyomaro are both named after Katana makers, who are known as Edo Sansaku (The Three Greatest Makers of Edo Period).
The last one of the Edo Sansaku is Taikei Naotane, but I don’t know if he ever appears in the game. Probably not.

Horikawa Kunihiro was a well-known Katana maker from the end of Muromachi era to the beginning of Edo era (?-1614).
He made so many Katanas as he was living the entire Sengoku era.
No wonder he made many Wakizashis;
He was born in Hyuga and lived in Ichijo Horikawa, Kyoto, later in his life. He was honored with the title of Shinano no Kami.
