Q: Do you have any art tips?
A: do not be afraid to make your art look ugly. include the acne of the person you're drawing, make the colors of the scene look muddy and stained, use rough and ready lines. hell, exaggerate the flaws; if you're a cartoonist, make the 'ugly' trait the most prominent feature. a lot of beginner artists are too preoccupied with having their art be pretty or their subjects be conventionally attractive, which is fine, but breaking that barrier by allowing yourself to draw something you consider ugly will let you feel more comfortable drawing more stuff in the long term, I promise.
honestly, as soon as I embraced “ugly” features instead of trying to ignore them my art quality skyrocketed.

Is there going to be cringetober 2024?
tldr: YES!
It’s already almost done, and I’m so much more excited for it than last year’s! Don’t get me wrong, I was and still am super proud of Cringetober 2023, but I had no idea how popular it would become and thus didn’t really put all that much effort into it. I really did think it would just be me and my friends doing it.
CRINGETOBER 2024 ANNOUNCED IN 5 MONTHS ‼️
…ish, I’ll announce it in September just like I did last year.
I also really think people will like this year’s more too. I’ve tried to take critiques into account while also changing up the prompts & making them more modern while still keeping the “cringe” core elements. Also, definitely going to be making a text ID and non eye strain version right off the bat (and probably a glossary too, lmao). Full transparency, 2024’s Cringetober is gonna cover more art mediums than last year’s, including prompts based on writing, cosplay, or animation. For these, I plan to include alternate prompts for those who just want to draw (though I hope people will take it as an opportunity to branch out)!
If you have any requests or suggestions, now’s the time to hit me up! I can’t promise anything, but I’m down to hear some ideas from you guys on what you’d like to see. And, of course, I did not come up with the concept of Cringetober, and anyone is completely free to make up their own list!
I’m really excited to be hosting Cringetober, and so honored that people were so passionate for it. Thank you again!
