1. do not share ANY information about the place, the state, and the members of Ukrainian army. don't like it, don't reblog it, don't even write about it.

2. if you want to get information, do not look for carrds or twt threads. turn on your tv, read a newspaper, look for journalists and officials. do not trust random internet users and do not spread the disinformation and propaganda that is already circulating around here. double check every account you see talking about what's happening before deciding to share it further.

3. listen to Ukrainians.

more than 1,000 russians were arrested in protests in 44 cities over the last six hours. some well-known activists were preemptively arrested as they left their house; others were arrested as soon as they unfurled placards. by the looks of it, there were large protests in st. petersburg. over 100 local government officials signed a letter opposing war, and over 170 journalists and intellectual figures signed a similar letter. this is a promising sign, but it’s feeble. as war drags on, protests will grow.

russian civil society is battered and demoralized; its most prominent figures have either been murdered or jailed. i predict that russia will become “totalitarianized” in the coming weeks, with full control over the internet and social media. it isn’t clear how extensive this will be, or how quickly it will happen. already, moscow’s largest theater announced that anyone disrupting the performances to say anything about the war will be arrested for treason. this has severe ramifications for what the postwar occupation of ukraine will look like

Obviously, I hope that everyone in Ukraine stays safe and Ukrainians deserve all of our support right now but I also wanted to say that my heart goes out to all people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia who have been living with the fear of Russian intervention for years and now see their worst fears come true. I see so many posts about how "we shouldn't worry as Westerners because the war will not affect us directly" and while this is absolutely true, I wanted to take a second to acknowledge those who do have to live with the fear that it might affect them directly. I don't have anything more to offer than words and it's not worth much but if you are from Poland, Estonia, Kazakhstan or any other country close to Russia or Ukraine and you are afraid because you don't know what the current events means for the future of your country, I am with you in thought and sending you a warm hug with this post.

And for all the idiots who don’t matter, Yoga, in it’s very essence is a collection of everyday poses that your body naturally does. We believe since most people forget those poses, Yoga is basically tune your body into how it was supposed to be. Yoga doesn’t look at skinny or fat. It isn’t ableist. It isn’t just cardio or areobics. You train with literally all aspect of your body and mind. You have meditation techniques woven into exercises. Your breathing is always controlled. I’m sorry I’ve been seeing this epidemic of people, particularly white is there a culture of just ruining things practicing yoga and ruining the essence of it. I’ll admit, not all white people. But I don’t see you guys calling demonization of things, do I? Yoga and Hinduism isn’t related. Yoga has absolutely no roots in Hinduism or any of its gods. And if, being Christian means you can basically say horrible things about a religion that refused to die out despite your missionaries, which is inclusive, which doesn’t have people being sent alleged utter damnation for the stupidest of things, which doesn’t treat sex workers as inhumane spawns of satan, then maybe you’re just wrong? Climate change is like someone comes up to you and tells you your super strict aunt is visiting, but your house has seen 3 parties over the weekend and is a mess. She’ll be here in an HOUR!’ and other people say 'Your aunt isn’t visiting, it’s all a huge lie, and besides, the house is still habitable!’

Sure, you can work around the pizza trodden into the carpet, maybe lay a rug over the teenager vomit, wear shoes so the spilled beer doesn’t soak into your socks.

But if you spend a little time and effort cleaning the house, even if your aunt isn’t coming, you still have a lovely clean house! If you keep measures in place to keep it clean, no more wild parties, a few storage baskets, invest in a roomba, it’ll stay clean for when your children live there too.

And if your aunt is actually coming, and you DON’T clean the house, you’re totally and utterly and without question, fucked.

I hope you all realize this is more than just “losing memes and fan art”

This affects how content is shared online. Period. This is censorship. If this is implemented it opens the door to the government deciding what you can share and when.
