Update: This is also a Carlos Rivera appreciation account, I'll be tagging those posts as #not trek, #el hotel de los secretos, #el rey león, and #infinito carlos rivera if you want to blog those tags so you have a purely Star Trek experience from this blog

If there’s three things in Star Trek I love, it’s Vulcans, making cool shit up about Star Trek, and Captain Pike, here’s a post with master links to every post I’ve made or saved about both! Asks are OPEN

The bit in amok time that hits me the most is when kirk is trying to find out what's wrong with spock but neither of them can make eye contact with each other?? And they're both trying to hide their feelings like kirk can only admit his worry for spock because of his abilities as a first officer???

Spock and the Kirk brothers

The more we see of Samuel Kirk, the more sense Spock's #Unfazed reactions to James Kirk make. I want a gif of Sam Kirk getting thrown across the room after touching the shining alien artifact and then Spock calmly attempting to revive his dumb ass. Spock is good with James Tiberius because he spent years trying to keep George Samuel alive.

My one problem with Star Trek is that no one is ever consuming contemporary media. As in media that's contemporary for their time period. Everyone is always reading old novels and practicing classical music. They study Klingon Opera or read old Cardassian mysteries. No one is ever like really into obscure Klingon Nightcore. Nobody is reading shitty Ferengi pulp novels. There's no kids media of any kind. Where is space Sesame Street or junior novels about gaining superpowers from a warp core accident? What about comic books? Nobody is playing crappy indy holodeck games. It's always some recreation of a historical battle or just lounging in a mud pit at some alien spa. Someone give me angsty Bajoran protest music. I need some rebellious teens producing the worst most cacophonous death metal techno that they recorded in an empty cargo bay. I need contemporary pop culture in Star Trek.

You would think that since people don’t have to labor to survive in the Federation, people would produce MORE art 🤨

Might I remind of of the very popular holosuite program "Vulcan Love Slave" which I assume to be written by Ferengi and, considering how many volumes there are of it, a long running holonovel smut series. Quark has the full set and is very proud.

If you've never seen any of the behind the scenes/promotional images the tos crew did, I highly recommend searching around to see the wackiness yourself, for real

Oh, so the Enterprise is getting in the way between he and Spock?

There, problem solved.

For reference, the first panel comes from the Star Trek manga, volume 2. Spock asks about Uhura because she was missing the previous days, after her memory was wiped by Nomad ("The Changeling").

“The other thing that was very important to me was finding a way to tell this story so that fans and non-fans alike could understand that were it not for his sister, Spock could not fully actualize himself with Kirk. When they say goodbye, she says, “I want you to find the person who is least like you,” and she’s obviously talking about Kirk. Spock takes that advice, and she’ll never know it.” - Alex Kurtzman

friendly reminder that michael’s last line to spock is about his future with kirk
