In Paxton’s defence:
He was never exclusive to Devi or in a relationship with her. He clearly said in the hospital scene that they were friends and continued to be nice to her. Devi misconstrued it as romantic intent. I understand fantasising about your crush returning your feelings (been there, done that) but that is not your crush’s fault.
He “used” Devi for the group project. Have you done a group project??? You want to be with your smart friend. Ideally everyone would pull their weight but that is just unrealistic. You want to cancel him for typical student behaviour?
He acted terribly towards Eleanor. He talked to her for the first time (I assume) to tell say her mom was cool. But Eleanor took it the wrong way, made a scene, accused him of making up rumours and calling him a racist. How is him talking back mean???
He ghosted Devi. The day before her mother told him he was a stupid jock who knocks up smart little girls. He is insecure about himself, after failing grades and fancying a smart girl. So He felt insecure, frustrated, sad etc and acted immaturely and Becca promptly called him out. He went to make amends.
Paxton is not perfect and neither is any teenager or character on Never have I Ever. But he is way better than any of you make him out to be. As @callmeorange said, “Ben and Devi wear their hearts on their sleeves when Paxton doesnt so it makes him look worse in comparison because we dont see whats going on underneath.”
