Just discoverd this outfit from the game and looked too fun not to draw ( probably not game accurate) Seriously the art in totk is insane and so inspiring.
Last pic is a color experiment :/
Is that the earthwake technique?

The King of Darkness has died to a sudden illness. His lackeys are tearing his realm apart in a massive anarchic free-for-all. The Heroes are now sent to his castle - not to kill him, but to find and actually bother to read his will.
I wish I could write because these prompts sound like they could make AWESOME books but 90% of great prompts out there don’t get used. Sad ):
The game cases for switch games are pretty much the same size as the screen on the actual switch
I forgot proof:
This is a case that fits the switch OLED perfectly so that proves it with fitting it together

Everyone say goodbye to mantis friend… we couldn’t just keep a wolf mantis in our house so we let him free in the rose bush
At least he has lots of aphids to eat
magic system where “dark magic” and “light magic” are literal terms - dark magic consumes photons, making an area around the spell visibly darker, sometimes to an Extreme extent, and light magic releases photons.
because of this most dark mages tend to work in very brightly-lit areas (either artificial light or outside in the daytime) to fuel their spells and wear and use lightly coloured clothes and tools so that they’re easier to see in the dimness their spells create, whereas light mages wear heavy, sometimes leaden robes (depending on the work being done) and the magical equivalent of welding masks to protect themselves from what can be an extreme amount of light, and sometimes other kinds of electromagnet radiation!
needless to say this is incredibly confusing for anyone unfamiliar with the culture
due to the fact that both magics react with basically all of the electromagnetic spectrum - not just the visible light part of it - dark magic is enormously useful for radiation protection (uv-eating spellwork as sunscreen, anyone?), but also has the slightly uncomfortable effect of eating infared as well - which does have the effect of making areas around powerful or prolonged dark magic uncomfortably chilly.
nothing that a nice fur coat or enchanted light-magic IR-emitting lamps can't fix!
I love how taking something literally can invert it like this. Amazing.
theres no ‘f’ try again dumbfuck. you stupid bitch. you thought you did something didnt you? “judge my vow” how abt u jude ur posts before u tweet them. jfk.
Man I almost thought i wound up on twitter somehow before I saw the tags
im actually pretty glad there are at leat a few people that agree with me that totks wordlbuilding/story is disappointing to insulting really
its such a let down and will never stop being a thorn in my side how much build up and potential they wasted with disregarding pretty much everything of botw just to introduce not just less compelling stuff but also kinda undercut what was already there
like im sorry but being able to glue a few sticks together isnt worth sacrificing the buildup from the previous title and quality of the story for
To me, the zonai in totk and botw are just completely different things. From primitive, yet powerful tribe to sheikah 2.0? I just feel like it makes no sense and they should have just had the sheikah just stay in that role.

Mantises apparantly suck the guts out of their prey while they’re still alive.
It’s pretty smoky where I live, so I decided when I saw this praying mantis trying to steal my lizard’s bugs in the garage I had to bring him in until it cleared up. I made this habitat with an unused cricket keeper, some sticks and… bush… flowers? These things,
from outside, and I gave him a black soldier fly larva from Icarus’s bug supply and I saw them eat and WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THAT PRAYING MANTISES ARE SO BADASS
We should all pitch in to get an old (at least old-style) sailing ship to go across the ocean in while dressed like pirates
I need to get my boating license first
If we don't get paid then a replica of the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean would cost about $750,000 to 2 million USD. Assuming it's purely for show then cannons are probably about 200,000 each, but we wouldn't need to worry about cannonballs, only black powder which is fairly cheap. But if the crew is paid, let's say, 15 an hour with a crew of maybe 64 (probably more) that would be 960 dollars an hour total, and say, 12 hour shifts just as a guess, that would be 11,520 a day, seven day work week is 80,640 a week. Wiki says 32 guns so 6.4 million, cannonballs are a non-issue if purely theatrical, black powder can be 15 to 40 dollars a pound, so let's say maybe... 500 pounds a month I suppose, that's 7,500 to 20,000 dollars a month of black powder. 4 weeks in a month is 322,560 dollars in payment. That plus the black powder is, let's say 7.5k, 330,060 dollars a month in payment and black powder. Let's say that crew buys their own food on shore leave so we can ignore that. The ship and guns combined is 8.4 million. But that's a one time total. We'll ignore repairs for simplicity. Conclusion: it would cost 8.4 million to buy the ship and guns, then an extra 3,960,720 dollars a year for crew payment and black powder just to keep it running. If you wanted to run it for ten years (just as a nice round number), that would be a total of 48 million, 7 thousand, and 200 dollars. So, expensive as hell.
Also I spent way too much time on this for it to go unnoticed so tumblr please let my math not be in vain
What if you wanted to get through a battle or two? Enough stuff for Two best-case scenario battles, or one worst-case one: An estimated 240 pounds of gunpowder per cannon, costing 4,800 would be used, and 220 cannonballs at $35/cannonball=4,200(hitchhiker’s reference?)(We’re using ten tho) and if 10% of the hull was damaged, (a worst-case scenario) and the ship is 100 feet long and 25 feet wide (to simplify calculations), you’d need about 250 plank feet of wood, $2,500 of white oak. If the mast is damaged… we’ll estimate $20,000 for a new mast, that all adds up to:
Wood: 2,500
Gunpowder:48,000
Mast:20,000
Cannonballs:42,000
Totaling in 157,500. That’s… a lot of additional money. However, you can cut that down by salvaging the enemy ship, but… still a lot of money.
The average haul equates to 10,000 to 100,000 dollaridoos in today’s money, but remember one small thing:
Pirates preferred to threaten, then get their treasure through forcing mutiny in the opponent crew using their infamy and…
To scare the crew and get their treasure.
So in reality, most of the time this $157,000 cost was completely avoided by simply using threats, and the cumulative gains could cover it. Also, an error in price calculations: each crew mate in many crews would get one share, one and a half for the carpenter, one and a half for the surgeon, two for the captain (who was only really in control in battles and negotiations) and two for the quartermaster, (in charge the rest of the time.) So really the cost just depends on the gain (in that particular section)
Citations: the two pirate videos from CGP grey, (wonderful channel, check it out on YouTube) and chatGPT helped me with the price calculations.

Watching the difference between the Twitter migration mentality vs. the Reddit migration mentality is fucking hilarious.
Like, when Twitter users started moving over here everyone was pulling out all the stops and bringing back old fandoms that they were into and basically firing rent lowering shots by being super cringey.
And then all of the sudden when the Reddit refugees start showing up we're like, "ah yes, pull up a log and gather around the dumpster fire. We'll teach you how to not get killed by people hunting down bots and carve out a little area for you guys to relax and get used to the site before we throw you into the deep end of this hellsite that we call home. Tomorrow is Let Papyrus say Fuck day so you can prepare for that if you want. You want some hot coco and a blanket?"
I’ve been here for like a week and still don’t know what’s going on. Help please
Doubled up nightmare
This is what Link sees in his fever dreams.
Picture this: you enter a cave, and the entrance crumbles behind you. In this spacious chamber, the only thing of note is a ruined guardian stalker… suddenly, gloom hands begin to rise. They envelop the guardian, and bring it to life, as strangely shaped rocks reveal themselves as scouts. A remix of the scout, guardian, and gloom hand boss themes begins playing.
You finally defeat it… but the gloom hands are gone, which means that phantom ganon will soon appear… but this phantom ganon is different. It rides a ghostly horse, wields a much longer spear, and, like the true ganon, has the ability to completely remove hearts. The only way you will get them back is through going to the horned statue and offering rupees.
Ultrahand and zonai capsules are locked, so you can’t use your constructs. Maybe the eye of the guardian could be a heat seeking ancient dagger?
i dont think the sages are distinctly aware of everything their avatars are doing, but i imagine some things probably bleed through
I mean this comic is cool, but what ARE the specifics of the avatars? What bleeds through, or are they fully aware? Are they not aware at all?
Fantasy stories should have more "what do you mean you don't do X" things in compare and contrast of cultures. Like the differences between peoples aren't the stuff they show off as "These Are Our Culture :)" things, fucking everyone has food and music and folk tales, but the things they've always assumed that everyone has, and are baffled to discover that they don't.
The people who are always barefoot are baffled that humans don't have a wash basin at their front door where people can wash their feet before stepping inside?? Do they just walk in with their dirty feet? The fuck do you mean you take your shoes off?
Humans don't have small baby-sized spellbooks for toddlers who just learned to read, so they can safely learn to practice tiny cute and harmless, age-appropriate magic spells before progressing to more mature and demanding spells? What, do they just throw teenagers completely unprepared into the arcane - hold the fuck up, is that why human sorceror mortality is so fucking high?
Dwarves who have always wondered why the entrance to human residences is so fucking big, why do you need to take up such a large area for a door that's just there to lead downstairs to the underground halls? Are the timber walls really as thick as a human is tall? What for? And once one of them gets invited to a human house to stay and rest, nobody ever fucking believes her: That's not the entrance, that's the whole fucking house. 100% of the human house is aboveground, there is no tunnel to the underground levels. They might have a single storage room down there, but the aboveground section is so fucking big because that's the whole house.
