part of me misses the pre-streaming tv era where you could just turn the tv on and watch something random 😔 now if you want to watch tv you have to carefully select something it’s so formal and you have to commit i miss the casualness of flipping through channels and being like ok sure
This isn’t an academic argument about the societal pros and cons of streaming and on-demand content versus top-down static broadcasting, however, there is a whole type of brain-state we have lost and it’s called “let’s see what’s on” and late at night or very early in the morning it could be so, so rewarding. Also, we have been cast out of the Garden of Cable Access Programming and we will never see those golden gates again
