how does this get even worse

I think about once in a while...

We have another one...

This is the internet now tho 😭💀

Omg so many additions since I last saw this post! 😂😂😂

It's funny but incredibly telling how entitled/ignorant/insensitive some of these people are... idk if it's an education gap or purposeful ignorance.

The really bewildering thing to me is that I remember when you needed to get up and pull a dictionary off the shelf, or visit a library to look up the facts you needed. Now people have all kinds of information literally at their fingertips and they can’t be bothered to use it.

Oh dear gods, it's gotten worse

When you know politics but no facts

don’t take people too seriously on the internet

This hits different when combined with that "Americans don't learn other countries exist till they're in 5th Grade" post from the other day.

Demily recently got another one lads

Also, I love that, in the sign language one, it seems like the last image might've been a gif of "fuck you," screenshot at the perfect time to let you know they were about to sign "fuck you"

As a romanian person I gotta add this one too

The war on drugs is rooted in racist policies . The failure of the war and drugs is obvious. We need to find a better solution, because people of color should never be the victims of racist policies. White Americans are more likely than black Americans to have used most kinds of illegal drugs, including cocaine and LSD. Yet blacks are far more likely to go to prison for marijuana, which is not a hard drug. Moreover , even when white people get caught , they get less time in prison.

…is that Rachael Leigh Cook, the same actress who did the original anti-drug ad when she was a teenager?

She grew up, realized she’d been exploited to further a racist government agenda, and turned around to bite the hand that feeds. Awesome.

this changes everything oh my god

do you understand why it trips me out that people can drive 45 minutes and be in aNOTHER COUNTRY? I drive for 45 minutes and im like

a city over

Avatar

I live in “Italy” and took a day trip to go to “Austria” and “Germany”

Chums, that’s sweet, and all, but Australia just ate Texas for breakfast.

If you drive for 45 minutes in Australia you aren’t a city over, you’re just 45 minutes away from the city.

If you drive for 45 minutes in Australia you may not even leave the cattle station.

If you drive for 45 minutes in Canada you may not even leave your driveway.

If I drive 45 minutes in the us I’m just at another mcdonalds

If I drive for 45 minutes in Northern Ireland I’m 10 minutes into the sea.

I can’t drive.

This is so intense like… if you miss your mark you get beheaded

You’re doing them a disservice by not including who they are! These girls are high school students. They are the Tomioka High School Dance Club from Tomioka High School in Osaka. They went viral in Japan when they got runner up in the “All-Japan High School Super Cup Dance-Off” held as part of Yokohama’s summer of dance this summer (August 2017). You’ll know Yokohama’s summers of dance from the regular mass Pikachu dances you see on social media each summer.

They’ve blown up since then. The promotional video they made at the school has more than 30 million views. They’ve been on tons of TV shows, including performances with Oginome Yoko, the original singer of the song (Dancing Hero (Eat You Up)) that they remixed for their dance.

This dance routine was riffing off the comedian Hirano Nora and actually includes some of her comedy catch phrases in the remix. (They even got her to join them eventually!) For the uninitiated, one of the most accessible forms of comedy in modern Japanese pop culture are comedians like this who create outlandish SNL type characters and then appear on one or more shows regularly as that character. Hirano Nora’s gimmick is that she’s a woman from the height of Japan’s “bubble economy” era in the 80′s when there were tons of newly wealthy yuppies. This is why the remix is called “Bubbly Dance”. (Compare her to similar comedy character Blouson Chiemi whose gimmick is that she’s a modern, man eating career woman.)

These girls deserve all the fame they’re getting. You can read about them in the Asahi Shinbun and also check out this piece on Akane, their 25 year old coach via Japan Forward.

!!!

When your kid asks you a question or to help with something, instead of immediately giving them the answer, ask what they think the answer is and why they think that. Then do the same with the right answer, and over time this will help them with critical thinking and problem solving.

Very important thing to add - don’t make the feel like guessing the wrong answer is the worst thing in the world. I, still to this day, am afraid of guessing wrong, and honestly, it’s a horrible way to teach problem solving

A girl I liked convinced me to stab a man, so I did. Felt guilty for a bit, then promptly forgot about it and walked around with the murder weapon for a couple of hours, going about my business, walking my dog. Eventually I was cornered by a plainclothes police officer who asked me why I had a bloody knife; I told him I was looking after it for my bogan cousin. He said, “You’re under arrest,” and I was like,, “No, I’m not, watch this,” and then I woke up.

that’s a goddamned power move

Matthew Morrison’s hommage to Cory Monteith >  I love my brother, Cory Monteith. I love keeping his memory alive, and his bright light shining. He inspired so many, including myself. I hope you all embrace the ones you love extra tight this weekend (especially your Moms!), and take some thoughtful moments to remember loved ones passed. But most importantly, give yourself a little love…Because there is no one in this world quite like you! - May 11th 2019 x
