i-m-sneks FAQ

Q: What is your morph market store?

:)

Q: Did you know one of your photos is being used by ____?  A: Yeah, I appreciate y’all telling me but Leliana’s pictures are being used all over the place, and likely some others as well. Its likely by the time it reaches y’all that I’ve already been tagged in it quite a few times.

Q: How much are you selling babies for?

A: It all depends on the market at the time, morph, quality, and sex. There’s no set prices until the sales ad goes up

Q: What morph/species are your reptiles?

A: Dante is a motley corn snake Navi is a high red brazillian rainbow boa Aerith is an orange dream fire pinstripe ball python Thresh is a pinstripe ball python Rhea is a disco/fire ball python Leliana is a BEL from a lesser/mojave pairing ball python Raina is a fire vanilla enchi yellowbelly ball python Tali is a wild type Merauke locality scrub python Aurelion is a mexican black kingsnake Kitana is a bearded dragon (colors/genetics unknown, as she was a rescue) Zevran is a bi-color crested gecko Asriel is a disco/fire enchi yellowbelly ball python Loofah is a grand canyon black tarantula,  Aphonopelma marxi Pumpkin is an Apache Jumping spider,  Phidippus apacheanus Undyne is a merauke locality Blue Tongue Skink Crunchwrap Supreme is a Suma (Possible yellowbelly) Ball python

Q: Where do you get your skulls?

A:First year I found poached coyotes and got permission from fish and game to take them. Now I find the dumping place of the yearly coyote hunt (Yes, we have tried to petition to stop the hunt, but here they are considered pests so are hunted freely) I clean them all myself.

Q: How do you make the crystals?

A: Boiling water and borax! And dye

Q: Why do you hate Brian Barczyk/BHB reptiles?

A: Search BHB critical on my blog, tons of links and proof an reasons as to why.

Q: I am having trouble getting my ball python to eat!

A: Click this link, this is a very good how to guide to see why they won’t eat and to get them to eat.

Q: What do you recommend for beginner snakes?

A: Corn snakes are always my top choice, but I also recommend california king snakes, rosy boas, sand boas, and milk snakes. If I remember correctly, rosy boas and sand boas are not available in certain countries. Be sure to look up what is allowed in your country/state.

Q: What are those holes in the snakes face?

A: Those are heat pits, it allows the snake to sense the heat of its prey for easier hunting.

Q: Can you reblog my post?

A: As much as I would love to reblog everything I am asked to, it gets overwhelming. If I am tagged it something and I see it, more often than not I’ll reblog, but 90% of the time I just reblog where I see fit. Sorry :(

Q: Where can I find a place to buy (insert any species here)

A: Try on morph market, then research the seller on fauna pages. If your species isn’t on morph market, try finding a facebook page specific to that species that is for selling and, again, look for reviews on sellers who have animals you are interested in.

Q: Do you breed your own feeders?

A: Yes! All of the breeders are treated as pets, and the babies treated as royalty. They have massive multiple story cages, plenty to chew on, wheels to run on, and eat oxbow regal r@t food. When they are of size they are humanely PTS and frozen for future use. Some babies are sold as pets as well! My r@ts are from very healthy lines, and are friendly as can be.

Q: Why do you alter the word r@t?

A: To keep any feeder talk out of the pet tag :) I feel it is disrespectful to put feeder animals in the tag that pet owners regularly go through for cute pictures.

Q: How do you clean your skulls?

A: Maceration in plastic totes, degreasing with blue dawn dish soap, and whitening with hydrogen peroxide

Q: Do you support the breeding of the spider morph, and other morphs with wobble?

A: I do not support the breeding of them. I am all for adopting out the ones that exist, and I believe the ones who currently are alive deserve good loving homes. But it is unethical to breed an animal who will create offspring that all have neurological issues that have proven time and time again to not be able to be bred out.

Q: What are your thoughts on ___ youtuber/breeder/facebook page?

A: The only reptile related youtube channel I watch is DMExotics. I don’t, and won’t, watch any others. Sorry. If I know of a breeder or facebook page I will let you know, but I won’t do research into ones I don’t know.

Q: What is your cleaning process?

A:  Every day:

Spot clean, meaning checking for any feces or urates

Weekly: Take out water bowls and wash with soap

Every other week: Take out decor and wash with soap

Monthly-every three months, depending on how soiled the substrate got: Full clean out using a mixture 10% chlorhexidine 90% water and full swap into brand new substrate. I also do full clean outs of cages if the snake is refusing food for more than a few weeks, and I can’t find anything wrong with the husbandry. Often times Ball pythons can refuse food if they feel their cage smells too much like them.

Q: Have you thought about doing ___ with your crystal skulls?

A: Yes! In fact, anything you can think of has already been suggested. Open mouth, eye sockets only, geode related ideas, etc etc. I really appreciate all the ideas, I am working out how to put them all to use.

Q: Will you sell just plain skulls?

A: Sorry, but no. There are plenty of other people on both this website and others that sell just plain, cleaned skulls that were ethically collected. Lots of people already fill that niche. I want to use the skulls I get for art and sell those.

Q: Do you do all the art for your merch?

A: Nope, only about half of it! I try to mention it in every post I make about it, but sometimes I forget. @william-snekspeare is the genius artist behind a good amount of my merch :) I commission him for the art and purchase it with full rights to sell! I attempt to give credit as much as possible tho, I don’t want to mis-represent myself as the artist of those items.

Dante is such a wiggle boi

Alduin is up for adoption!

If you havent seen about this lovely lady, she seems to have been dumped by her former owners and was running loose near a busy school street.(ive spent a few weeks making posts on FB, physical posters, and looking for missing ads to no avail) I got a call from my Aunt about her, and went and got her. She had a laceration on her back right leg that is healed up and just needs a few sheds to grow scales over the scar. Shes been missing most of her tail for quite a while, its fully healed and scaled over. She is a big sweetheart and would be a wonderful pet or ambassador. The only requirement is that you have owned a beardie or something with similar care in the past, rescues dont make good first reptiles because they may need extra care.

Her favorite veggie is yellow squash, made into noodles with a spiralizer (but she will eat them cut up). Her favorite protein is dubia roaches. She loves baths and will splash around to get the water on her back, and in the evening she loves curling up with you in a blanket and napping. During the day shes very active and fun to watch!

Id prefer someone in Arizona, so we dont have to ship, but i would be willing to ship her through Reptiles2U if the adopter pays shipping cost (a box that big is often $100 or more to ship)

Feel free to send me an ask (that i will answer privately) with any more questions you may have about her, or if youre interested :)

Eeveelution inserts for dice, number 2 pencil for scale 👀 also need to fix eevees eyes omg

Only been bitten by my BPs twice, amazing how much blood the tiny mark causes. Though the dotted line shape is rather cool imo

Right? Tiny little holes but lots of blood 😂 and ive always kinda wanted to get a tattoo in that bite pattern 🤔

She curled up in the blanket and napped 🥰

Everyone, meet Jinx! 🥰 I dont have her in person yet, too hot to ship to AZ right now. But she is a young captive bred Speckled Racer (Drymobius margaritiferus). First photo was right after hatching, second ine was taken today by the breeder. Ive been looking into racers, coachwhips, and whipsnakes for about a year and they are so hard to find captive bred. Not only that, but the larger species (red racers for example) dont yet thrive in captivity. I got incredibly lucky to find a breeder of speckled, and immediately put a deposit down on this girl 😍 after this im going to let her, Crunchwrap, and Toast all grow into adults and be upgraded to their adult enclosures before even thinking about getting any more. She will be here next month and I am so excited 🥰

How necessary is gutloading insects, or are there any alternatives? I have the memory of a dang goldfish and keep forgetting to gutload mealworms in advance

I feel that LOL So gutloading isn't seen as 'necessary', just very beneficial. What I would do (because I also have a bad memory) is the second you leave your house to buy the mealworms, have some sort of veggie already in your car. Yellow squash or a staple that your pet eats, and then when you leave the car put it on your driver seat. That way when you come back it's right there and you can give it to the mealworms (or crickets, or roaches) right away :) If you forget to gutload, don't worry too much, just be sure you dust them with calcium and reptile vitamin powder to be sure that your pet is getting proper nutrients :)

Toast is all curled up to sleep 😭💓💓
