“But yes,” he said wearily. “As I could, I loved you.” Arden, K. (2018). The Girl in the Tower. (p. 336). United Kingdom: Del Rey.
Clarke’s reaction to Bellamy being ‘dead’ is about how much she loves him, how much she would miss him. It’s ultimately about Bellamy and how much she wants him alive, not just with her.
Echo’s reaction to Bellamy being ‘dead’ is because she doesn’t know how to function without him, she doesn’t know who she is without him. It’s ultimately about Echo.
And that’s all that should matter for the endgame.
‘Race and racism is a reality that so many of us grow up learning to just deal with. But if we ever hope to move past it, it can’t just be on people of color to deal with it. It’s up to all of us – Black, white, everyone – no matter how well-meaning we think we might be, to do the honest, uncomfortable work of rooting it out. It starts with self-examination and listening to those whose lives are different from our own. It ends with justice, compassion, and empathy that manifests in our lives and on our streets.’ — Michelle Obama
The only acceptable reason for this is if this character is actually a demon who seduces men and then eats them. [source]

my breasts are nicely separated. Completely divided, every year they move apart by half an inch.
My breasts are nicely separated though they still fight for custody of the children.
I,,a woman,,,am WiDeR LOweR dOwN
That was difficult to read.
So ugly
My name is Ebony D'arkness Dementia Raven Way, and my breasts are nicely separated
OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT AND HOW ON EARTH DID IT GET PUBLISHED
You can always tell when it’s a man writing a description because they focus oddly on the breasts. There will always be something about breasts and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read historical or fantasy fiction and they talk about “her breasts hanging freely under her tunic” or what the fuck ever and it’s like…women don’t do that? We don’t describe ourselves by saying “I have blonde hair and blue eyes and my breasts hang freely under my tunic”. I kind of feel like we should counter by awkwardly mentioning all male character’s balls in their description. It’s kind of in the same vein.
“I have auburn hair and hazel eyes and my copious nicely separated balls hangs freely under my breeches”

Marvel’s The Punisher 1.05 / Crazy Ex-Girlfriend 1.10 – I mean, he didn’t kiss me. He just kissed me on the cheek.
You mean Rowan seeking to rescue Aelin? And the cunning bird is an owl from Tower of dawn cover?
(This is from The Assassin’s Blade when Celaena was in a theatre)
The moment I became obsessed with Elorcan:
“Elide (…) found herself not afraid of anything as he did it again, kissing one corner of her mouth, then the other. Such gentle, patient kisses- his hands equally so as they stroked the hair back from her brow, as they trailed over her hips, her ribs.”
Why? Why THIS exact moment? If this was a description of Chaol or Dorian or even Rowan, I would probably not freak at all. But we are talking about LORCAN SALVATERRE, the dude that’s been in love with a crazy bitch for centuries, the dude that’s been described as cold and ruthless and always getting what he wants. From these descriptions alone, I would have guessed Lorcan to be really really forward when it comes to sex (which he is), but also a little impatient- someone who just goes for it without really considering his partner’s wants and needs.
Lorcan is described as having “unending cold rage”, caring only for himself and maybe Maeve. Why should he be a considerate, attentive guy in bed????? Wouldn’t fit the character he’s being described as. Logically, you wouldn’t put Lorcan into the cute/fluffy/ perfect fae boyfriend box.
But. BUT. When he’s getting it on with Elide, he’s described as gentle and patient. He’s not pulling her clothes off after a few seconds, he’s not violently kissing her or being urgent in any way. He doesn’t even seem to restrain himself. He’s just…enjoying that they are taking it slow for now.
AND THATS WHAT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO ME!!!!! Because Lorcan is NOT a gentle and patient person- look at his feud with Aelin, Rowan, the Carde, basically the whole world. He manages to pick a fight with everyone after a few seconds. But with Elide, he forgets all of that- he’s knows how precious Elide is and that he can’t pull any of that bullshit with her. I bet if she told him that she wanted to wait 5 years before sleeping with him, he wouldn’t even BLINK and just accept that.
And I also bet Lorcan would NOT do that for everyone. He’s not considerate like Dorian, or trying to do the right thing like Chaol. I bet Lorcan has pissed a lot of his lovers off. I bet he’s grown annoyed and impatient with a lot of them, and I bet all those years of pining after Maeve also made him really cold hearted and bitter. I bet there have been more than a few times where he didn’t care about how things felt for his partner.
But with Elide, he is suddenly gentle. He is patient. That centuries- old demi-fae, who has slaughtered and schemed and betrayed, who had probably slept with hundreds of women and who is described as muscular and hulking and honestly a little scary- that man transforms into someone else entirely.
That quote just made that so obvious to me. And that, my friends, was the moment I became utter, desperate Elorcan TRASH.
Who Else Just Knows that Rowan Whitethorn can sing?
I mean imagine:
- Aelin sometimes walking in on Rowan humming as he goes over tax plans, or sharpens his knives.
-Aelin idly wondering if her big man can sing
- But Aelin doesn’t push it on him, not yet at least.
-Aelin doesn’t push it on him until one night, when their baby wakes up, crying and shrieking, and Rowan goes to go calm her down
- Aelin dozes off, but when she wakes up, Rowan’s not next to her. So she decides to go into the nursery, figuring Rowan probably fell asleep in there (again).
- But when she gets there, Rowan’s not asleep.
- He’s singing!
- Aelin nearly sobs as she watches her mate rock their daughter as he sings, the song clear and beautiful
- She waits for him to finish before entering the room, and when she does, Rowan blushes for like ten solid minutes.
- Aelin begs Rowan to sing for her, just one song, but he declines.
- Rowan has never really sang in front of any one, and was not about to start then.
“Please, Rowan!” She begged, a grin playing at her lips. “No.” Aelin watched as Rowan turned towards the bed, and even through the dark, she could still see his flush. Rowan flipped back the covers and slid in, the only sounds in the room the rustling of the sheets as he settled in. Aelin sighed, but walked towards the bed. If he was this adamant about this, she’d let it go. But at least she was right. Rowan Whitethorn, King of Terrasen, Warrior of ice and snow, could sing.
- Rowan doesn’t sing for Aelin until one night, when she awakes shaking and sobbing, the darkness too much for her.
-Rowan calmly lights a few candles, then wraps his arms around his mate and begins.
- His voice certainly is beautiful. And Aelin wonders how he’s kept this from her for so long. The song is in the old language, so she can barely decipher the meaning but she decides she loves it.
- Aelin falls asleep with his voice in her heart, and his kiss on her brow.
-But all sweetness aside, the songbird jokes begin.
Meanwhile, over in the Inn during the Beach Scene
Seriously
The next time someone ask me why I prefer Rowan over Chaol I’ll just refer to the first time they saw Aelin’s scars. I mean Chaol just looked down at her and actually asked what she did to deserve those, like there was nothing wrong with that. While Rowan (even being the asshole he was back then) recognized that a girl that young shouldn’t go through that kind of stuff and was genuinely disturbed .
I know there are a lot of other reasons but this one… it’s just stuck in my head
Gavriel and Aelin
Now listen here fandom
I want Aelin to be pregnant at the beginning of tog 6. I want her to be pregnant and to realise it while in the coffin. I want her to realise this and raise hell, I want her to realise this and burn her way out of her coffin because just encase she was raised in a cage and chains(I.e. the keep but also being horn tied to be queen of terasen) does not mean her child will be.
I want her to burn her way out if the coffin and give Maeve hell. I want the cadre to not even think twice about helping Aelin because they know that not only is she the better queen but because she is Rowans mate and they all think of Rowan as the grumpy father who would do anything for them.
I want her to escape and the cadre to follow her. I want them to hunt down her squad. I want Rowan to find her. I want their reunion scene to be the most heart wrenching thing I can read. I want them to admit that they are mates to each other. I want them to say it over and over again as they kiss and (coughs) have reunion sex. I want Aelin to take his hand and place it on her stomach. I want him to inhale her scent but notice something else mixed with it. I want her to look at him, with a shyness he has never seen her posses. I want him to just look at her and know. I want him to look down at their hands on her stomach and cry. I want him to kiss her, to kiss her stomach. To beg her to tell him she isn’t lying.
I want that baby to be born after they take back the Terresan castle. I want Lysandra and Manon and Elide to be there as her midwives. I want the males all waiting outside the room. Except rowan. I want him with his mate, I want him letting her break his hand in her grasp as she gives birth. I want that child to cry the minute their born and only stop when it sees there parents.
I want that child to be the most loved child. I want Dorian spoiling it and Aedion giving it a blunt knife whenever they leave the castle. I want that child to be the thing that makes the squad always return victorious from battle.
And when the war is won I want that child to grow up and rule Terasen. With its fathers hair and mothers eyes.
I want a happy ending.
Friendly Reminder
Rowan smells like Terrasen (pine and snow)
“and tell him… tell him thank you - for walking that dark path with me back to the l i g h t ”
