Hungry for Wood

@hungryforwood2

I learned in 7th grade that the name of my beloved Western Washington town means "hungry for wood." I love my community and the spirit of its people. I'm a total nostalgia junkie, news hound, geek, musician, mom, wife, and counselor and I plan to share things I find interesting and informative.

Thinking about this: if you are trying to accommodate people who are toxic to you, who never respect your boundaries, who continuously demand that you give all you have to them, but they never care for you… then you won’t have space and time to accommodate people who are actually good for you, who respect you and love you for who you are. Sometimes you have to lose people, to leave them, so you can find better company. And it is better to be alone, hanging out on your own as you search for friends and learning how to be okay with being by yourself then feeling lonely and lost in a toxic relationship.
