I love the concept of the Death Of The Author as much as the next person, but I think everyone could benefit from doing a little resurection of the author actually. Research some author you like, if not their biography then at least their nationality/cultural background/time period where they lived. Try to see how this could have influenced their work. Whether they want it or not every artist ends up bleeding on the page one way or another. Try to connect to this person through their art, to see the world as they must have seen it even two continents and five centuries apart. It's cool it's trendy it's fun! Trust me!
