YELLOWJACKETS: 101. Pilot ➙ 202. Edible Complex
We are getting rid of Jackie’s body. We are getting rid of Jackie’s two-month-old corpse.
One of my favorite scenes in The Menu is when the chef reveals he only invited the actor because on his only day off he watched the actor's movie and it was one of the worst things he ever watched and it wasted his entire day.
I never related to a character more.
i watched elvis yesterday and loved it. amazing movie. then i read a bunch of stuff about elvis the person. he seemed like a good guy. very anti racist, always said that black people inspired him and really created the sound he became known for. man literally was forced into military service for performing and hanging out with black people. all his black contemporaries have been vocal about how cool he was and they were friends and they had no ill will because everyone always copied everyone and that his style of music was unique
then you get all these modern day black people accusing him of being a thief and not crediting black people and because of that he's trash
i just think that if every single black person of his time period said he was cool and fine then maybe fucking drop it and stop holding him, a man with very little control over his life, to today's standards
elvis his whole life: oh yeah black people absolutely inspired me and i based my sound on them, i simply lucked out being born white
black people born after elvis died: he stole from black people and never credited them!!!

For the past year I've been really committing to and getting good at photography and today I had a few family portrait sessions
Someone brought her husband who I don't think she's like...in a relationship with but still probably legally married and they've probably never lived together and also rumor has it he's in ms13 but most importantly he's WEIRD!
the star bucks barista looking at your boyfriend in your passanger seat and saying aww so cute does he want a puppuccino
no one had “real names“ in ancient times if you wanted to be called broadback or servant-of-god or whatever everyone was chill about it

the problem with don't worry darling is that nobody's talking about the scene where harry styles is manically tap dancing on stage while chris pine shouts "look at that boy dance! dance, boy! isn't that something! do a flip, boy!"
You are not paying your workers to do their job with a smile. You are paying your workers not to jump over the counter and strangle the most insufferable people alive. Do you understand
Don't think of it as "$20 an hour for unskilled entry-level work".
Think of it as "$20 an hour for a human being to spend 2,080 hours a year locked in a building with smug, arrogant, entitled bastards who they could- without much effort- drown in a public toilet"
Everyone has within them a level of desperation which could compel them to perform unspeakable acts and for the low low price of a basic living wage plus dental I will hold closed the gates of hell itself and make a cheeseburger with no cheese for order #652
To be clear, minimum wage in my area is NOT $20/hr, this was advocation for a raise, but actually it should be $32 seeing as my units rent has gone up 210% in 4 years while wages have gone up $1.50
