there is a balance in horror that needs to be reached between genuinely unsettling and bordering on hilariously corny because so long on creepypasta has made me … well its ruined some things for me so now

genuinely scary:

  • dark hallways with dark figures
  • alleyways
  • something being Just a Little Bit Off
  • moving in an inhuman, unnatural and insect type way
  • liminal spaces (if done right and not in that corny oooooohhhh rest stop way like if we get into some you’re the last person on the train/bus/you’re in the gas station bathroom thing … god)

corny and stupid and must be stopped:

  • smiling children
  • creepy children
  • crickity crack they canted their neck
  • dumb sayings like … i thought we left jeff the killer behind guys
  • vague ‘and you might see something SPOOOOOKKYY’ type of stuff we’re bigger than this

One thing that’s sticking out to me is that aside from a few communities that have enacted some pretty heavy law enforcement reform, what we’re seeing all across America is cops openly picking a fight with the public.

They are attacking people just because they’re in range. They’re following and attacking people from behind. They’re assaulting clearly identified journalists. They are running people down with SUVs and horses. They do not care that they are being recorded behaving as a heavily armed, out of control mob.

They are playing a very, very stupid game.

for fuck’s sake

Ben entered the “Shed of the Year” contest and built it to his daughter Elsie’s vision. He won 1st prize.

He enjoyed building it and would like to turn it into a business.

In the stem of the mushroom, there’s a bench with storage.

A small stairway leads to the cap.

The windows are architectural salvage.

It’s cute & bright inside.

There’s a 2″ thick piece of glass on the floor so they can stand or lie on the floor to look at the river below.

They even put in a little kitchenette area. Cute father-daughter collaboration.

This is *dreamy*.

Maybe it’s weird, but it’s like I felt somehow compelled to draw the best children’s book ever. My tablet called out to me and the stylus strokes, uncertain and wonky as they are given my limited drawing skills, seemed to assemble into exactly the images I had in mind. Maybe that’s how it goes for real artists, in which case… so jealous!

We hope you are all managing your respective quarantines as best as you can! We are preparing a few other lockdown activities for you all. In the meantime, we now officially have an Instagram, so follow us at ourflowerworld.

number one suburban neighborhood where every house looks extremely similar and theres nothing visible beyond the houses, no trees or other buildings, just the sky which is always the same shade of blue. every house is furnished exactly like youd expect, but theres no visible sign anyone really lives there. every bed is made perfectly, every countertop is spotless, every drawer and fridge is empty. the road just keeps going but every house is so similar that you cant tell if youve been walking in circles or if these are different from the houses you saw an hour ago.

number two indoor playground inside a mall where every thing is all weird and shiny
