Eid Mubarak to all celebrating!
Eid Mubarak to converts and reverts of color who have no one to celebrate with because their families aren’t Muslim. You are a real Muslim.
Eid Mubarak to Black Muslims in the Ummah who are ostracized and face antiblackness in their communities. We are NOT all abeed.
Eid Mubarak to Queer and LGBTQ Muslims who are told they’re haram, face so much violence, and hide themselves in Masjids. You are not haram.
Eid Mubarak to poor Muslims who don’t have cars to get to the Eid prayers at their Masjids, can’t afford new Eid garments, and barely have money to eat outside of Ramadan but they can’t turn to their Masjids for help or when they do they are turned away. You deserve help and to pray next to every other Muslim on Eid day.
Eid Mubarak to homeless Muslims who can’t fast everyday and whose pleas are ignored by the Ummah. You deserve a home and an ear to listen to your plights.
Eid Mubarak to mentally ill Muslims who are told to pray away their mental illness. You deserve to feel welcome at Masjids and heard.
Eid Mubarak to survivors of rape and sexual assault who feel like they can’t tell anyone lest they sully the name of Islam and are told to keep quiet about it in local Masjids, and made to feel like they’re worthless because of it. You deserve to tell your story if you want to and you are worthy.
Eid Mubarak to all who face double, triple, and quadruple marginalization. I am praying for you all. I love you all. Allah loves you too!
