If you’re still taking prompts:
The triplets doing something at the same time in true creepy triplet fashion
Always open to prompts! The only time I'm not is if the ask box is closed 😁 (And I promise to announce if that's ever the case)
The triplets didn't often do things at the same time, but when they did it was noticeable. It could be downright eerie.
The first instance Mirabel noticed was when Antonio dropped a plate. Thankfully, the plate didn't break, but all three triplets looked up at the exact same time, standing up in tandem and even had the same concerned looks on their faces. For the first time, Mirabel noticed a true resemblance between her mother, aunt and uncle.
But it was only a small thing. Easy to brush off.
However, those little moments kept piling up and up. Only Abuela, Félix and Agustín didn't seem to notice. Meanwhile, the Madrigal kids were all increasingly aware of the "weird triplet thing" and unnerved whenever it happened.
It was weird. How could three separate people, who were all so different, be so in sync?
Another time was when Camilo was starting a water balloon fight. He and Mirabel tip-toed into the garden. The triplets were sitting on the back steps.
Without even turning around, the three of them said, "Don't even think about it."
"How did you know!?" Camilo demanded. He looked as freaked out as Mirabel felt.
It was even weirder when Julieta, Bruno and Pepa turned to face them at the exact same time.
"We know," they said flatly. It was getting ridiculous.
"Knock it off," Mirabel said, tense as a spring.
Julieta's smile was so sweet it verged on openly mocking. "Knock what off, mija?" she asked. She was clearly biting back laughter.
"That!" Mirabel pointed between them. "The weird triplet thing!"
"You're gonna have to clarify," Bruno said, hands clasped and shoulders back in an impression of Abuela. "We do a lot of weird triplet things."
"You keep doing things at the same time," Camilo said, gripping one of the water balloons so tightly that Mirabel was surprised it didn't pop. "And saying things at the same time!"
The triplets looked at each other, eyebrows raised. They shrugged, only further proving the point.
"Eh," Pepa said. "We don't even notice anymore."
"It's weird," Camilo said.
"I think it's sweet," Julieta said, nose in the air.
With an outright mischievous grin, Bruno added; "It's a triplet thing. You wouldn't get it."
Mirabel threw her water balloon, but Bruno ducked, laughing at her. It sailed harmlessly overhead, bursting on the grass. Casita rattled and Mirabel knew the house was laughing at her and Camilo too.
End credits scene #2 in Love and Thunder... let's talk about it (obviously spoilers below)
TW: Cancer, death
Valhalla is only for warriors who die during battle (as established in Sif's scene during dialouge that seemed to be just throwaway lines at the time). Jane didn't die until after the literal battle with Gorr was over.
In other words, Jane doesn't go to Valhalla for dying bravely during the battle with Gorr. Jane goes to Valhalla for dying bravely during her battle with cancer, and I just think that's a beautiful statement about people who are fighting severe, severe illnesses.

I've known Encanto since December. I've heard all the songs at least hundrends of times each one. AND TODAY i learned that Julieta sang the "Time for dinner" part, and Agustin sang "He's here" in We Don't Talk About Bruno. I AM IN SHOCK! My Encanto brainrot just got worse!
@enigmaticdoctorscully WHAT UHM- U NEED TO SEE THIS 😩
wait what!? I quickly ran to get my headphones in the other room.
@sophiasi1172 you see this?!?!?!
What???? Where did you learn this???!! *grabs headphones*
Actually it's clear in the lyric version of WDTAB because the lyrics are colour-coded and Julieta and Agustin have different shades of blue that don't appear anywhere else in the song.
Rating the Madrigals on how likely I could beat them in a fight
Alma: 9/10. She’s an old woman and is very fragile, I could probably body her without hesitation. The only reason she’s not a 10/10 is because I would feel guilty about it. The reason she’s 9/10 is because I wouldn’t feel that guilty.
Pepa: 4/10. Once I land a hit I’ll probably get struck by lightning and end up fucking dead. Not a good way to go. If she didn’t have her gift I could probably get a few good hits in, but she seems pretty feral. Would try to tear my ears off.
Julieta: 7.5/10. I have fought both verbally and physically with people who love to cook on several occasions. As long as she’s not in the kitchen, I win this fight. Points taken off because if I hurt her Luisa will probably rip my spine out.
Agustín: 100/10. I swing on him. He dodges and tries to swing back. Somehow he punches a beehive instead. Victory is mine.
Félix: 5/10, he looks pretty hardy and honestly it would probably come down to who lands the first hit.
Luisa: 3/10. It’s likely that if I challenged her to a fight she’d refuse, and therefore I would win. But if I did fight her it would be over embarrassingly quick. She could tear a grown man in half, I wouldn’t stand a chance.
Dolores: 10/10. She seems like the type to try to pull hair during a fight which would leave her torso wide open, and her gift probably wouldn’t help her that much. Unless she can hear the punch coming, which I doubt. Also I could probably just yell at her and watch her crumble from how sensitive her ears are.
Isabela: 1/10. She’s definitely been waiting for a chance to go apeshit. Visualize this: I swing, I punch a cactus. Then she’s growing monkshood directly from my spinal cord.
Camilo: 5/10. Just like his father it’s likely going to come down to who lands the first punch, and if he gets like. The strength of whoever he changes into. If I land a hit before he gets to shapeshift, we’re good. But if I don’t and he turns into Luisa— welp. I’m dead.
Antonio: 1/10. I drop-kick the child and immediately get gored by a rhinoceros.
Bruno: 6/10. I wish this one was a 10/10. He looks like he weighs 100 pounds soaking wet. He looks like I should be able to hit him with the one two buckle-my-shoe and watch him go down like a sack of potatoes. But no. This motherfucker is agile, parkouring through the walls of Casita. And he was living with rats for ten years. He’d probably give me bubonic plague bc I know he’d bite me if I swung on him. Would I win? Probably, but it would be hard.
Mirabel: 3/10. I could probably very easily beat the shit out of her, but she seems like the type to never go down. She’s got endurance and is probably scrappy as all hell from growing up with no powers. Like when the person you’re roughhousing with can change shape, you fight dirty. She’d probably hit me with homemade pepper spray. She’d put a bucket on my head like I’m a Skyrim NPC then bash my kneecaps in. She’s unhinged.
Casita: 0/10. Motherfucker it’s a house??????? How do you fight a house????????????
Any head canons about Agustin’s family? Are they around? What do they think of Julieta and/or the Madrigals?
YES I HAVE HEADCANONS. First off, Jared Bush said that both Madrigal dads have family in the Encanto. While I know a lot of people are very firm in the belief that Agustin moved from Bogota (and I totally respect that headcanon! It makes sense!), I think that he grew up in the Encanto (or that he moved there with his parents when he was very young), and that his style of dress is more a personal choice than anything else.
Now. Remember these musicians?
A lot of people think they're jerks because they make Mirabel keep singing when the kids are pestering her about her Gift, right?
My personal headcanon is that they're her dad's family. And that they throw her the accordion and encourage her to keep singing because they are VERY PROUD OF HER and want her to talk about her own talents. I mean, look at their faces! Those are not the faces of awful people! Those are the faces of people who are ROOTING for the girl! They're so stoked about her song?!
So, yeah, I like think that older gentleman is her abuelo on her dad's side, the woman is her tia (Agustin's baby sister), and the mustached guy is the sister's husband. Or possible other way around (mustache guy is Agustin's brother, woman is his wife). I also think Agustin's family loves and respects the entire Madrigal family, that they're all just as good-hearted and sweet as he is and see the best in everyone, and that they ESPECIALLY adore Julieta not only because she's a wonderful wife and mother, but because she's saved Agustin's life on more than one occasion, starting when he was just a child.
Oh, I also headcanon that Agustín only has one sibling, and that there's a fairly large age gap between the two of them (Agustín being around 10 years older).
Any headcannons about how the triplets act when they’re mad at one person or the other? I imagine that while Pepa is quick to get mad, she gets over it pretty quickly, while Julieta tends to hold a longg grudge.
ALRIGHT HEADCANON TIME!! I definitely agree with you. Just gonna elaborate a bit more:
I'd think Pepa would be quick to anger and get annoyed easily, but she usually gets over it quickly. I personally headcanon that since she constantly has to bottle up her emotions and isn't really allowed to get angry she'll try her best to avoid her siblings and just ignore them, running away from the conflict (not wanting to fight with them in fear of accidentally hurting them with lightning). She's good at forcing herself to get over it, ignoring the problem and pretending everything is fine until it escalates into an explosive fight. And when it does, all these pent up emotions are spilling out very easily and I think she might say things in the heat of the moment that she regrets a lot making her feel worse and angry at herself on top of all that as well. But she can't stay mad at her siblings for long, the first time she held a grudge for more than 2 days was when Bruno left.... and I also think she argued with Alma the most and also people who bully or take advantage of her siblings and their gifts. Pepa's the sister who complains about her siblings all the time but as soon as someone else agrees or says something bad about them she'd start a fight ("HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT MY SIBLINGS" lightning, punches, lots of broken noses). But she forgives easily, just wanting everything to be alright because she can't deal with negative emotions, never learned how to.
Bruno is probably the least confrontational. I can't see him arguing or fighting much but I do think his bluntness actually stings the most when directed at his siblings and lacking a filter when they're arguing. If they do get into a fight which escalates so bad that even Bruno raises his voice, he doesn't hold back. I can see him blurting out things he saw in his visions that he swore he would keep to himself because it would just hurt them. But now he's hurt and just so angry and it just slips out.. like mentioning all the damage Pepa will cause with another hurricane, everyone's favoritism towards Julieta and how she would never be able to understand the other two but even she's not perfect enough to save everyone and just lots of things he didn't want to burden them with. Those arguments end pretty quickly after that because goddamn that's way to much. On a lighter note, he's probably the one to bicker the most with Pepa, they're just constantly teasing each other and it sometimes can get pretty intense but before it becomes hurtful they stop and apologize to each other, laughing and joking not 5 mins later. They also just love to team up and tease Julieta all the time.
Julieta can hold a long grudge. And when I say long I mean YEARS. She will bring up things that happened when they were 10 and hold it over their heads and will not help them or heal their scrapes from doing something stupid. "Because remember when you two ate all the food I prepared the day before because you broke several bones riding a cart boosted by Pepa's wind and crashing in a tree? And I had to stay awake until 3 am to redo all of it??" All she wants to hear is sorry and she'll forgive you but you better not do it again... In arguments she is usually the mediator and tries to break up a fight as soon as possible. But oh boy if she's the one who's angry? You're in for the scolding of your lifetime, it doesn't matter if she's their sister, they're getting a tongue-lashing that rivals Alma's. Probably even worse because Julieta knows everything. Safe to say no one wants to get into arguments with her. (angry Julieta is fucking scary but also no one wants to see her upset or cry, their hearts couldn't handle it, so they don't fight much with her)
Watching Bruno’s scenes and this man is so expressive. When he’s talking to Mirabel, his hands are all over the place. And when he confronts Alma at the river? And when he’s apologizing to Pepa? This guy talks with his whole body, especially when he’s riled about something.
And like, as a fandom we’ve collectively agreed that he and Pepa were always tight, and probably raised hell together, and also argued regularly. I just want everyone to picture what those arguments must’ve been like. The drama, you guys. Bruno flailing and gesticulating and Pepa thundering and throwing her hands up in exasperation and both of them hurling accusatory pointing fingers at each other while lightning flashes and they’re both soaking wet and.
And there’s Julieta just. Sitting there. Arms folded, waiting for it to blow over because they’ll be laughing together in half an hour tops, but good grief. We’re in public, guys.
GUYSSS
why have we as a fandom not embraced tiny baby Luisa headcanon yet?? I mean I just think it would be adorable and make a lot of sense with her powers and feelings of inadequacy
like she was a tiny baby when she was born. So tiny that they were concerned and had to keep a close eye on her to make sure she was growing well and stuff. And eventually she got to a healthy weight but that she always felt a little less than (you know Julieta would never stop viewing her daughter as that tiny baby). SOO she always felt the need to prove that she was strong enough and that she could help. And she genuinely likes helping, even more so when she became a big sister.
I mean it just makes sense yall
Am i the only one that's been replaying the "Bruno apologizes to Pepa for the wedding" scene strictly because that guy's moves were so satisfying to watch?? The dramatics☆ the flow☆the salt and sugar throw☆the full on performance!! (Now we know where Camilo got his flare from/lh) [i really hope me using tone tags is okay]
Oh, yes! In that scene, everyone's attention (not just the audience, but all the Madrigals) was on Bruno alone! No one expected such a quiet and modest man like him to start singing and dancing!
For starters, notice: he involves Pepa in his dance only after she herself has given him her hand. Without her consent, he wouldn't do it. Without her consent, perhaps this whole scene would not have happened.
Besides, we see that Bruno is strong enough: he was able to spin Pepa, who probably weighs more than he does. And yes, Bruno knows how to spin a dance partner! He doesn't just "pull" her out of her place, he exactly launches her into the right trajectory! So, perhaps Bruno was able and loved to dance when he was younger, otherwise where did he get these skills?
Next. He asks for an apology, literally on his knees! Oh Bruno, my beloved!.. And look how softly, how carefully he holds her hand and how gently he pats it! So gently! Yes, Bruno certainly has the manners of a gentleman...
Oh, and next, pay attention! The only scene in the entire cartoon where Bruno has, BY HIS OWN INITIATIVE, a hug! After spinning, he hugs both of them at once, Pepa and Félix, with also patting Félix on the back (maybe they really were best friends before? I need more of their interaction!).
Bruno pours salt and sugar again. (How many of these supplies does he have in his pockets? So when he was sneaking into the kitchen while living within the walls, he faced the choice of stuffing his pockets with arepas or salt and chose the latter? Oh, I digress!)
And finally, he is spinning again.
So Bruno did a fast and energetic dance. In all this, he didn't trip over the tile splinters on the floor, didn't get tangled up in his poncho (as he did in the moment when he defended Mirabel from Alma), sang pretty well and didn't even get out of breath (which again confirms his remarkable physicality!). So, we see him in this scene as agile, nimble, graceful, and quite gentle. I don't know about the rest of us, but personally, I would have spun in a Colombian dance with him!
And yes, there's definitely something of an uncle in Camilo! (And in that case, I have a question for Abuelo Pedro! Surely they got those talents from him!)
