ok so, now that I have a job as of Dec 5th 2022 I will finally be able to afford bills! Unfortunately I will not get paid until roughly January 23rd meaning I have to cover my December/January rent through here. I'm a transmasc bigender bisexy guy whos physically/mentally disabled. we literally have just a few days to act. the senate is debating about putting KOSA, the Kids Online Safety Act, into the omnibus spending bill. if it is added, it WILL pass. despite the title and content of the bill seeming to be about protecting kids, we know everytime someone claims they are "saving the children" they have more sinister goals

which is why Senator Blumenthal is working with one of the biggest transphobes in the senate, Marsha Blackburn, to force this bill through, and claiming they are listening to LGBT voices when they are blatantly ignoring us.

essentially this bill gives every state attorney generals the power to remove anything they deem 'harmful' to kids online. you can see how a state like Texas or Florida would run with that, yes? it also forces you to upload your government ID online to access the internet. the bill will create a 'commission' led by handpicked members of the govt to oversee what is and isn't allowed online. it will lead to mass censorship of anything related to race or LGBT content. in a post-Roe world too? say goodbye to any abortion/sex-related info.

they are doing a shit ton of PR for this, including claiming they are listening to LGBT voices. i mean just look.

two weeks ago, 90+ human rights, LGBT, and tech orgs signed onto an open letter telling Senators NOT to pass this bill. in response, over 230 orgs led by the American Psychological Association signed a letter urging senators to. it's really fucking bad. like i can't sleep because of this. i didn't expect this to happen. we really really need people to speak up.

if this bill goes through it will literally kill off the internet as we know it

I'm freaking out my job isn't giving me any hours, my rent was due 2 weeks ago (it's 1 am on October 12th right now) and I still need £500 as soon as possible to pay it. I don't have money for food and my universal credit payments aren't due until next month. I don't know what to do.

me, my boyfriend alistar schizocetacean and spurs the cat became homeless together recently after experiencing abuse from both our parents making us unable to live with them safely and we are so autistic and disabled its been a fucking unbelivable struggle to get to this point where we kind of have housing but no money

i finally got away from my parents who have been gaslighting me about my mental health to the point of severe depression and isolation for years and oh i forgot did you know they stalked our social media and tried calling the cops and paramedics, trying to use my twitter against me, to get me not to leave, on two different occasions in the past few months.

also they have been taking disability money from me for a long time. my only other source of income (my etsy stickers) was being run by them for a while after i left home but they gave up doing it after they got mad at me i guess

alistars was already in a tragic family situation at the same time, related to his mothers and brothers sexual, emotional, and physical abuse of their family members coming to a head finally with the successful release of his younger 11y/o brother into cps custody. (he is much safer now and happier, per our last contact with him)

we ended up being kicked out of his moms place into homelessness with two cats, one of which we just had to put down from old age like last week, i was really really financially abused by her and ended up having to pay her for gas and groceries and rent i really hate her jesus christ

basically its been an incredibly traumatic year and we really need a break and donations because we are disabled and the people that were supporting us before are no longer available in our life

we are currently staying with friends that would have us but have been struggling to afford food and we need winter clothes so i thought i would make a more detailed post about the situation and say Umm hi pwease we need support of any kind because we are kind of in a extremely isolated spot here in Alaska and its about to be winter in under a months time 😅even like 10$ will go a long way

9/11 was a tragedy. everyone knows and sees that. just because i am muslim does not mean that i am going to justify 9/11. whatever bin laden’s motivation was, he did a disgusting thing and killed thousands of innocent people

just because 9/11 was an attack by someone who calls themselves muslims doesnt make all muslims terrorists. i cannot believe this is a sentence i have to type, but here i am. muslims - true muslims - do not condone violence. against anyone. i can go into all the details and the what-ifs and everything, but i dont have the energy for that. just know that violence is strictly frowned upon (note: this does not include self-defense. if somebody is attacking you and you are unable to get away, then fight back. again, there’s no debate on that).

check up on any muslims you know. your friends, neighbours, coworkers, acquaintances, even people you don’t like all that much. we are incredibly stressed out, especially if we live in a western country. just a quick text to see if they’re okay tomorrow will mean a lot

do not think that because you don’t live in america, you’re exempt from this. any western country has this problem, even if you live in a relatively okay area. i do. my friend (who lives in the same area as me) went to walmart and had a hijab on. she was nearly run over (intentionally, the guy was glaring at her and her mother the entire time) while trying to get to the store. she only realized when she got home that it was 9/11. i live in a safe area of canada. this should not be happening. but it is.

Basically long story short - I am a bitrans autistic man and I am currently homeless until September, crashing at my best friend's house as her mom was kind enough to let me stay here for the time being. I do have a job that refuses to give me more than 12 hours a week (which is an issue given my rent is £622/m), and since my besties house is a 5 hour train ride away.... yeah, I am currently on """holiday""" from my job as we try to figure this out. My leg is also slowly starting to give up on me so I'm not fully sure how much longer I'll be able to keep that job going when I'm back home. My family all live in different countries than I do, so they aren't much of help unfortunately.

My plans for a guarantor fell through meaning I may have to secure 2 months rent upfront instead of 1, putting the total at around £1300 before September 1st. You've already helped me raise money for my deposit and my storage unit, which I am very thankful for! However, unfortunately, it's not quite over yet.

it is 8/26/22 and all i can think about is the idea we might live to see the literal death of internet anonymity/privacy in the span of a few months because of AB2273 (California bill that might get passed into law by next week) and all be forced to upload our government ID's online since most social media companies are based out of Cali. lmao. and the fact that the bill wasn't even written by americans it was literally written by some random British royal and she paid the California legislative to sponsor the bill. what the fuck. oh and yes, they are playing this off as a "protecting the children" type BS. and yes, nearly every tech expert/internet/cybersecurity expert who's heard about this bill (and there's not many because it's a state law and not a federal law but it's an internet bill that will impact the entire web) is properly freaking the fuck out right now, as they should.

anyway, please call governor newsom (yes even if you dont live in Cali) and tell him to veto this horrible bill.
