Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.

Donald O'Connor, Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds in “Singin’ In The Rain”, 1952
Donald O'Connor nearly turned down the role as Gene Kelly’s dancing partner Cosmo Brown in ‘Singin’ In The Rain’, which finally earned him the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical. His home studio Universal Pictures agreed to loan him out to M-G-M on condition, that it kept the fee M-G-M paid for his services. O'Connor stood firm and won. “I said I wouldn’t make the picture unless I got the money. It wasn’t very much anyway.” He was, in fact, paid $90.000 as against the $102.000 received by Kelly, who not only co-starred, but also co-directed and choreographed all the numbers - except ‘Make 'Em Laugh’.
When Mr. O'Connor said, “I was bigger than Kelly at that time”, he was not being grandiloquent. The 'Singin’ In The Rain’ preview reports, filed in the M-G-M Archive at the University of Southern California, show that O'Connor consistently got better ratings from audiences than Kelly did, and that 'Make 'Em Laugh’ was preferred by a considerable margin to Kelly’s now iconized dance with the umbrella.
Quite interesting facts even though I’m not a big fan of comparisons. As Donald O’Connor regarded his place in dance as part of an extended family, he paid tribute to all dancers: “We used to steal from each other”, he modestly claimed, and I absolutely share his point of view.
Donald O’Connor and Gene Kelly both were amazing artists in their own unique way, and I love them exactly the way they were. But they had something in common, Donald put it straight: “I turned to the left and ninety-nine percent of dancers turn to the right. I fretted about that all night, and the next day I went in to see Gene and he asked, 'Which way do you turn?’ When I said, 'To the left,’ he said, 'Thank God, so do I.’ That’s why we look so well together because our strong side is going toward the left.”
Besides, these guys formed a terrific and memorable team with lovely ‘newie’ Debbie Reynolds, who achieved something nearly impossible here, holding her own with two of the greatest dancers.
"Singin’ In The Rain” is a masterpiece because of so many talented people in front of and behind the camera, who all worked hard to turn an idea into reality ❤!

Technically "butch" used to be used as a way of saying something was masculine due to the name being a sort of common male name or nickname. Which is likely why the term "butch lesbian" exists because butch means masculine or manly so a "butch" lesbian is a masculine women. I don't remember what show it was cuz it was a while back, but I was watching an older comedy and a male character said "I'm dead butch" as a way of saying "I'm very manly" or "I'm not a pussy" or something like that. I have also seen in older cartoons the name or nickname Butch frequently used for very masculine or tough guy characters like for example the dog from Tom and Jerry. So yes technically you can be "butch" if you are a dude, if you use the term in its traditional context.
Cano Cristales is said to be the most beautiful river in the world. It is referred to as the “Liquid Rainbow.” The color is caused by and aquatic plant species called Macarenia Clavigera.
It's really beautiful but I would be scared of swimming in it. Being in water with underwater plants freaks me out majorly cuz I can't help but freak wondering what could be hiding in them that I can't see. I know it's stupid and usually there is nothing but I still can't get it out of my head.
Some red and gold!
