“Do you know what it feels like gasping for air because you just can’t breath. Your body is full of pain and you just don’t know why. Have you ever violently woke up in the middle of the night with blood shot eyes and a racing heart. Feeling like you just went though every traumatic thing that’s every happened to you? Knowing that you can’t escape even when you’re sleeping. You’re supposed to get a break and recharge in your sleep why isn’t that happening? Have you ever gone days, no weeks without eating because your stomach can’t handle that kind of treatment. Your throat can’t hold it down even when your brain is telling it that you need it? Does your body ever feel disgusting because you’ve been trying to numb the pain or find something to make you feel alive, feel okay even just for a split second? Do you know what it feels like to have everyone thinking you’re crazy for taking a blade to your skin by choice? Has anyone ever told you that you are sick? That you should get help? Because it’s true you are sick and you do need help. But help doesn’t seem like the easiest way and that’s the point nothing is supposed to be easy. I realize that when I have to fight every single day, when I say no to the blades floating around me, the alcohol that is calling my name, the drugs that are shaking my body and the suicide that is holding me tightly. Does anyone really know what goes on in the minds of those who are hurting? If not, welcome to my life.”
