Hey, here’s a fun fact. Did you know that a lot of myths about trans masculine medical transition were created by TERFs on this site? Such as the once popular idea you could never get top surgery if you were a long term binder? Or the idea that all of your internal organs would collapse if you had a hysterectomy?

Don’t get me wrong, TERFs are infinitely more dangerous for trans feminine people and usually approach them with overt aggression.

Towards trans masculine people, they approach them with condescension and fear-mongering in a way that is particularly influential towards insecure teens. I think this is at least partially why you see so many young TERFs who say they de-transitioned.

TERF rhetoric is really insidious and can take on so many different faces. Remember to look for actual research when you’re speaking about the effects of medical transition instead of believing anything you read on this site. Cis people want to make us terrified of our own bodies.

Yesterday was the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, and activists took to Twitter to amplify the stories and stats around this crisis. News outlets should work to bring public awareness to this issue.

The Guardian has started a series called Not Invisible, which seeks to shed light on the violence that Indigenous women face. Other outlets should follow suit in investigating and sharing the stories of Indigenous women. 

With rampant industrialization increasing around Turtle Island, the implementation of man camps significantly increases rates of violence and disappearances of Indigenous women. This is a major threat to the Highway Of Tears.

hey! if youre in the uk, theres an active government petition to get non-binary recognised as a legal gender, and to have non-binary recognised as a valid transgender identity.

it currently has less than half the signatures it needs to for the government to respond, and though the deadline to get them is in october, i don't know if we can leave things to chance.

watching teenage girls get famous, get sexualized as minors, get SUPER sexualized the second they turn 18 because now all the freaks who were sexualizing them as minors but knew to be quiet about it can be loud about it without getting in as much trouble, and then have super sexualized eras “reclaiming” their bodies is so fucking depressing

especially when they’re still like 18/19 doing the “I am going to do super sexual, clearly for the male gaze stuff for MYSELF now, it’s for ME not YOU which is why it’s on the cover of a magazine” stuff like it hurts my soul and makes me so sad for them

i’m not saying this in a puritanical ‘young women shouldn’t be sexy’ way but just watching it become a very clear public display which these girls are just replicating things forced onto them… it hurts it just hurts i don’t have deeper, more profound language to describe it. it just hurts

the propaganda in tv shows does numbers on y’all and i’m not immune to this either but it’s been bugging me a lot lately because y’all will see a character who is a radical who is radically anti-war or radically pro-racial justice or a communist or whatever and you’ll see a character who is one of those things but also inexplicably like, murders a child or whatever and instead of thinking “hey, maybe there’s a reason this show is portraying someone who wants to feed the homeless as an insane monster” you’ll start posting like “i mean technically they were right but i just can’t defend them after they exploded an apartment full of pregnant women” and like. yeah. that’s what they want you to think. that’s why they have those characters do random off the wall shit. think beyond the text please
