Temples and statues existed in Greeks religion and post ALEXANDER many Greek settlements in west india transferred statue making which is called GANDHAR ART. .The first Buddhist statues had Appollonian feature.Mathura art saw making of so many statues with indian features.

I do not think astrology is science,stop using this terminology for it.Had it been science long back west would have investigated it and exploited it.
It is vedanga and was mainly used to ascertain planetary position for the purpose of yagya and prayers for sprituality for everybody.The concept of individualism or materialism and finding employment for it was not in much vogue in ancient time as is today.There was not much worry about the future people prayed only for their crops.
Life revolved around nature and land and prayers for the protection of the crops for general masses and meditation and deep philosophical debate about universe,this is about Vedic age, post Vedic age we see 64 heterodox sect mainly discussing about UNIVERSE and DETERMINISM ONE SECT CALLED CHARVAKAS,went to the extent of telling everything is predetermined and do not worry at all about future.
