You know, even if you check the Ukrainian news regularly, you still don’t see every awful thing that happens here.
Even I, as a Ukrainian, don’t see all of it. Every day I wake up and read the news. There are always some very big and awful new stories (like yesterday’s strike on Kramatorsk) that everyone will talk about right until the russians do another big and awful thing.
And then there are these smaller stories that people (including myself) often don’t notice. They always go “Today russians shelled *any village, city or town near the frontline or the border*. X wounded, Y killed” . And everyone is used to see this particular village, city or town in such news. Everyone just scrolls past it. And these stories almost never make it to the big foreign media, so most of the world never hears about it.
But these news are not just numbers and statistics. It’s real people, who died, or lost limbs, or their loved ones, or their homes.
Literally at every moment, russians are bombing some places, killing or torturing some people, or doing some other unimaginable horrible thing.
Obviously, if we start to think about every single person who was hurt and every single building that was damaged, we’d all go crazy. So I’m not asking anyone to do this.
I’m asking you to remember about Ukraine, at least sometimes. If you see a post (on tumblr or somewhere else), made by someone you trust, about one of the russian war crimes, please reblog it. Don’t just like it, reblog it. Yes, even if your blog is about cake recipes. Even if you only have 5 followers. This is very important.
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter ban Ukrainians all the time and take down our posts as sensitive content. Meanwhile Tumblr doesn’t do this but still, most users aren’t interested in our suffering so most posts about Ukraine get maximum 300 notes. Sometimes 500 if you’re very lucky. And it kinda feels like it’s always the same people who reblog it.
So, if you care about Ukrainians, please help us be heard. And thanks a lot to everyone who already supports us - we see you and we love you💙💛

There were representatives of the G7 and G20 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations. Here, in the Office. Danylo Kornilov was only 21 years old. a russian missile killed him at an enterprise in Kryvyi Rih. He had a wife and a little son, who is one year and three months old.

That bottled water was being gathered at that warehouse to be sent to Kherson region, which is still suffering in the aftermath of the russians blowing up the Kakhovka dam. The lack of clean water is one of the big problems there.
This is what russia does. It aims to destroy the feeling of humanity itself. Russua must be defeated, fully, and shown that these actions will no longer be tolerated. They had been tolerated for way too long, in way too many places, causing way too much harm over the decades. Its methods never changed, its approaches were never updated, because they always got away with it.

Tumblr Migration 2: Reddit Boogaloo
We all know about the Twitter immigrants, but there seems to be radio silence on what's happening now with Reddit users from certain subreddits doing a similar thing.
What's happening?
Reddit is restricting their API later this month and killing off third-party apps. An AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the CEO Steve Hoffman was held and it was clear that he would continue with the changes.
In protest, thousands of subreddits across the site are planning to go dark for 48 hours on June 12th. Some are planning to continue indefinitely until the changes are reversed.
Okay, so how does this affect Tumblr?
Some subreddits (mainly queer and left-leaning meme ones, don't worry too much about Reddit Atheists™ overrunning us) are encouraging their users to jump ship to our beloved - and beloathed - hellsite. There will be another influx of new users and many will be unfamiliar with how the site works.
What do us Tumblr users do?
Show them how to use the site; introduce them to the site's culture, tell them to reblog shit and curate their dashboard. Sorta like how we welcomed Twitter users back when they flocked here. Kungpowpenising optional.

As you know, the left bank of the Kherson oblast' affected by the flooding is under the control of russian occupiers, who don't allow any rescue missions and prevent us from even evaluating the scale of the destruction. Well, the word of mouth says they didn't do shit to help the people in the flooded villages and now there are HUNDREDS OF CORPSES drifting in the stillwater.
I feel sick. This is the most transparent example of genocide I can remember in my lifetime, and it is being literally translated online. The forced neutrality in the statements of some certain magazines and organisations is nothing but intentional complacency. Don't even get me started on the friends of kremlin. Kherson. Nova Kakhovka dam. Destroyed by russians. Ecocide, terrorism... Call it whatever you want. I know that right now, there are thousands of Ukrainians that are drowning and hoping for help. But, the part of the Kherson region is still under occupation. And russians don't let them evacuate. The other part, where volunteers, soldiers and civilians are trying to evacuate other people and animals is sheiling by russians.
More than 85 villages will go underwater. Would you happen to know what else it means? People under occupation, people whom the russian occupation authorities imprisoned and tortured in specially designated premises, and dungeons, as was the case in Bucha, Irpin, Izyum and many other cities of Ukraine, are now underwater. Their bodies will be there now until the water goes.
Numbers of endangered species of animals and plants in the South of Ukraine will disappear. And you know what the UN and Red Cross doing? One is celebrating the day of the russian language the other is writing an article about how hard moscow works on the development of humanitarian law. Have any eco-activist, organisations written a word about it? Nothing. No one is helping. No one cares.
Yesterday, I received a letter from an eco-community. About saving bees. Funny things? Ukraine is one of the largest honey-exporting countries. But no one cares what's going on here. Because you all tried to be so good at words, but never at actions. It's easier to close your eyes and tolerate russia. Read their books, listen to their music, learn and celebrate the day of their language. It's easier to block a publication from Ukrainian because they said something bad about big and dear russia, but it's hard to share and speak about all the horrible things they are doing here. So hypocrisy.
I won't be easy in my words, while people here are drowning, being killed and tortured and the whole world is silent because they are scared. I won't ever share a post about plastic, straws and other shit, while there is russia, that can destroy a dam, cause a flood, destroy thousands of lives, kill animals and plants, and get away with it.
I don't believe in this world and in this society. You all have already forgiven russia.
