hell, you have to have been living as your correct gender for two fucking years *with proof* before you're even allowed to start hormones!! you have to be out there every day telling people you're a woman while everyone around you sees a man for TWO YEARS before you can even get hormones. maybe it's more possible if you're young and thin and androgynous, but if you're 40 and can't afford to pay out of pocket for private healthcare, then what?
