Bart's reveal always cracked me up
That time Peter Parker was trained by Natasha Romanoff.
It’s a spider thing
It’s a spider thing
Don’t you love how Peter can do it with his calves but Natasha has to use her inner thighs. This whole equality thing is great.
Thighs are stronger than calves, and you can get a tighter grip, as well as have a higher chance of breaking things. Peter was intending to disarm, Natasha was ready to kill. Natasha is a trained assassin, and Peter is a student who works for a newspaper. Given their backgrounds and experiences, it would be UNequal to have Peter using skills and disarming tactics that Natasha was trained to do so.
So yes, this whole equality thing is great.

Like mother like son 💚 @spookyclooky
Also Peter has superpowers??????
Sometimes I like to sit and think about the absolute culture shock it must have been for Bruce Wayne to go from the chaos of one Richard "I will put down Tony Zucco with my bare hands" Grayson, to 11 years old Jason who physically embodies this image:
(Spoilers)
Okay ik this shot is funny
But have we considered how actually terrified peter b has to be here?
Like, he introduces miguel as his friend. We see he was there when miguel's universe fell apart. Miguel puts up with him bringing mayday everywhere and letting her climb all over everything. These 2 had to have been actually close.
So of course peter knew that miguel was going to talk to miles, maybe he knew miguel would say mean shit to him, but this is a face of genuine surprise. Not even the person arguably closest to miguel knew he would (or even could) act like this. Like, look at him!! Hes terrified!! The man he was there for during an entire universe's collapse, the man he considers a friend, the man he let hold his baby, is capable of doing this!!
Peter vs miguel seeing miles as baby vs not baby.... phenomenal take
wdym where's shoto? who do you think is holding the camera and is very persistent to squeeze in
the original draft version of the first avenger script is available online and as someone who is desperate for every crumb of mcu steve content i can get, here’s a list of some of the lines and moments i wish they had kept in the finalized version of the film.
1. steve saying both his parents were fighters (and he is too).
2. steve suggesting they go to church and bucky just going ‘hmmmm….no thanks’.
3. this is the one that makes me feel most insane: steve mentioning that sarah used to let him stand on her feet and dance with her in their apartment when he was small.
4. this line that validates my long-held headcanon that steve doesn’t actually know how to swim before the serum and only learns on the fly after.
5. the train/fall scene originally having bucky take the shield and jump in front of a shot meant for steve + steve actually being able to grab his hand and pull him in for a split second.
6. this explanation of the dynamic between steve and bucky of bucky always being steve’s lifeline/anchor and how that stayed the same even after the serum.
7. :(
Bucky is biologically somewhere around his mid-30s, but with the amount of physical damage and trauma he sustained for 70+ years and the way he was beaten and abused as the Winter Soldier, internally he’s probably much older than that.
He started aging again properly only in 2014, and with that probably came a serious amount of realizing just how much fucking pain he was in, everywhere. Not just the consequences of having 90lb of reinforced steel and titanium nailed right into his shoulder in a terrible surgery job even by 1940s standards, which would have played absolute havoc on his spine, shoulders and upper body in general (this, by the way, is canon and the reason why he has a distinctive left-leaning gait and unusual posture - the weight and pressure of the arm was literally dragging him down on one side because it was so heavy and permanently damaged his spine) but also probably the consequence of getting injured and not receiving proper medical care or treatment. If anything, Hydra probably just pumped him full of drugs and stuck him back in cryo-freeze, because they couldn’t risk having him out of action.
That delayed aging process, coupled with 70 years worth of physical injury, abuse, and general damage and wear and tear that comes from fighting, probably would lead to all kinds of health issues later on like arthritis, joint problems, scoliosis and more.
Sure, the serum probably maybe took off the worst of the effects, and Shuri’s treatments somewhat more, but there’s only so much that can be done for that level of physical trauma and eventually, it would probably catch up with him and be just as debilitating and horrific as the mental illnesses he already struggles with as a result of those same experiences.
ten years of fighting and when shit hits the fan tumblr instantly has reddit's back. the greatest enemies to lovers story ever told.
you understand
Oops, my hand slipped–
humanizations of websites have returned. nature is healing, capitalism is the virus
This has definitely already been done by now but I don't care I'm excited for this movie
Johnny Storm can be your poor little meow meow for so many reasons:
- He's treated like the baby of the family because he was 16 when they got their powers (even though realistically he should be in his 30s by now).
- This is actually to the point that when Reed, Sue, and Ben think their powers may be killing them, they keep it from Johnny and only tell him in the same situation as the kids. (They even sit him down with the kids for this conversation.)
- He initially wanted to keep a secret identity in his hometown (so people thought the Johnny Storm of Glenville and the Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four were two different people), but everyone knew anyway.
- This also makes Johnny's later characterization of seeing himself as nothing more than the Human Torch and nothing without the Fantastic Four even sadder.
- Johnny does initially have some mild angst about being the baby and wanting to fall in love and grow up, but nothing too outside of comic book norms, until John Byrne shoehorned him into a relationship (and later marriage) with Ben's ex-girlfriend Alicia, except we then find out that it wasn't Alicia at all, but a Skrull who took Alicia's place before Johnny ever started dating her, so Johnny was raped. And then this Skrull continually stalks, lies, and gaslights Johnny in multiple ways, which seems to prey on certain fears of his (like losing control of his powers in a public place).
- So then Johnny ends up in a public divorce, but the F4 doesn't tell everyone that Johnny and Alicia weren't really married, so Johnny's reputation is sullied in the public eye. And he becomes a playboy, a womanizer. Metatextually, the writers don't acknowledge how they're dealing with Johnny's sexual abuse, but in canon, Johnny has literally no one on his side. So. Kind of a horrifying era.
- Years after this, one little detail in Secret Invasion is that Johnny may have tests for people he loves to make sure they're who they say they are. 🙂 Can you say ✨trust issues✨?
- Johnny also plays up the playboy thing in the years after his "divorce" (specifically, after Heroes Reborn), along with a general "Oh, I'm just an irresponsible, carefree person!" vibe, which his sister Sue notes is definitely a front in many ways, as Johnny has to do a lot of work to stay in control of his powers so he doesn't hurt people, and Johnny has nightmares about hurting the people he loves.
- Johnny loves his family sooooo much, and he dies to save them. His death and the plots stemming from that are so fun. Sue goes nuts (as she should). Reed tries so hard to get his body back. Val goes for revenge. And Ben and Franklin's guilt over not being able to save him? Ben, who Johnny tricked into being thrown out of the way? Franklin, who is supposed to have such great powers but couldn't save his uncle?
- Johnny was initially cast in a movie about a gay cowboy (though he hadn't been confirmed as gay when this story happened).
- Johnny has a great singing voice, but he put out a very bad pop album.
- While Johnny hasn't been confirmed as gay, Bobby was initially conceived as a knockoff Johnny, so I think we can acknowledge that there should be some backwards implications here. So just taking all of this into account, a gay man whose been in the public eye since he was 16, who had a very public failed marriage, which is likely treated as his fault due to his womanizing and playboy image when in actuality he was the victim of multiple kinds of abuse, and who struggles deeply with coming to terms with his own identity outside of his family and the role he's been told to play by the media? I adore him. I want to study him under a microscope
- How can you not love a man who dresses like this?
genuinely cannot believe that the two best multiverse movies of the year both had the main villain’s motivation be a BAGEL
