Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.

annie got troy and abed a plant for their apartment and I can only think of two possible outcomes for that plant.
scenario a) they put it on a counter somewhere and promptly forgot all about it, until one of them points out that neither of them has watered it in two months and by now it’s a crispy shell of its former self. they start religiously watering the dead plant once a week just in case it’s not fully dead & eventually they’re like “lol whoops. well, we suck at this” so they cut their losses and give up entirely.
scenario b) they instantly give it a funny white man name (like Robert) and start including it in their everyday routines. Robert watches TV with them. sometimes they take him for a walk when the weather’s nice. they buy him a fancy pot for special occasions and keep a schedule for watering. Robert puts out a new leaf and they both lose their minds. they worry that he’s getting lonely and buy him a plant friend to keep him company. when they start to have an argument over something minor, troy interjects “NOT IN FRONT OF ROBERT.”
“what? why?”
“WHAT IF HE THINKS ITS HIS FAULT THAT WE’RE FIGHTING”
“oh. I hadn’t thought of that.”
