hello! fellow syril x dedra shipper here; i literally just finished the first season of andor last week & i'm honestly surprised at how much i'm drawn to these two; anyway, i hope i'm not too late to share the one headcanon that i'm fairly confident about; i feel like when syril and dedra discuss things that aren't related to them/their relationship, it's almost like those conversations where you and other person are basically talking over each other but you understand everything they're saying, those topics are 'safe' to them & they feel comfortable in those moments; but if their relationship is on their minds, it's extremely hard for them to verbalize those thoughts; they've both been taught (or taught themselves) that those feelings are a sign of weakness; so they find other ways to discuss it or even avoid it completely (through physical touch, messaging each other, etc.); they can't communicate with each other well when it really counts, which could end badly for them if nothing changes; i hope that this makes sense & that i didn't ramble on too long ✨

Hello! No pls send me all the Syril x Dedra headcanons it's never too late!

And I agree. If we're really going to run with the idea of them being twin flames for a sec, it's like they see everything about themselves reflected in the other - good and bad. The benefit of that (for them) is that they've finally met someone else who shares the same beliefs and ambitions. When the subject is order, justice, the Empire, their work etc. the understanding between them is almost telepathic.

But the downside of having a twin flame is that all your vulnerabilities and insecurities are on display for each other as well. Given Dedra and Syril's backgrounds, plus the ruthlessness of existing in the Empire, they're going to see that as a huge weakness.

Well, actually, I think Dedra will see it as a huge weakness first. Syril might have to find out the hard way a little later...
