im serious btw. i know first hand that once u start going down that road its so hard to stop. its so hard to stop the negative self talk and self pitying especially when you’ve been doing it for a long time. feeling bad abt urself all the time and insulting yourself doesnt do anyone any good, it just makes you feel worse in the long run. quite frankly self deprecation is one of the worst things u can do to urself. no one should feel burdened by their existence. you deserve better.
Learning this lesson again right now, for the umpteenth time. Why do I spend so much time trying to find new and exciting ways to make myself feel like shit?
I try to also remind myself that---regardless of what I think of me---there are people who admire me, look up to me, or simply see themselves in me. People I care about. Putting myself down only harms them.

Literally cannot emphasize enough that my #1 writing advice is to stop being afraid. Stop being afraid of sounding too cringe, or too stupid, or too horrifying, or too horny, or too weird, or too much, or too little, or too you. You need to put your entire pussy into your art. Sure, it won't be to everyone's tastes, but if you keep yourself to the blandest tamest safest roads possible you will be of no one's tastes, not even yours.
