Yesterday (Feb 6), was an awesome day. I had a marvelous sleep the night before because I have the world's best husband. He took over baby duty and I slept on the couch (away from his snoring and her crying). I went to the gym and did the elliptical for the first time in years. Really do enjoy it more than the treadmill. I might mix it up. Do treadmill one week and elliptical the other with the recumbent bike randomly. I did the weight machines circuit and my tiny muscles are looking good! We went out for dinner to Boston Pizza and I ate whatever I wanted. We had ice cream afterwards and I'm proud that I only got a small. I was slightly full already and didn't need more than that. All in all, an awesome Saturday. Now to do the gym part again today and loads of housework! Ready and.... Break!
Man oh man... Had a busy week with Lily. She finally had her top tooth cut through. Needless to say, it was a terrible few days before that!
I need this mug.
Happy Monday everyone. Grab your rooster and head over to Porn Country
How about you don’t promote your porn site on other peoples pictures.
Laying on the couch thinking about doing some exercises. Maybe I should actually do them...
Busy morning
I ended up getting really into cleaning and decided to vacuum and shampoo the carpets lol. So thats done now its time for a workout, busy busy!
I wake up a little early on the weekends (like 630am) and clean before anyone else gets up. I'm more productive before 9AM than most people are all day! A clean house is a happy house!
Trying to catch up with all the things I've missed since I've been gone, but its hard to! I miss being so active on here, and chatting with loads of people. My lifestyle doesnt allow it 100% anymore. But I do my best!
Smuggly enjoying being ahead of @fitchris25 and @fatgirlgetsfitatlast because I know it won’t last! They are freaking robots!!
I would love to join you ladies on these challenges!
I won Round 1 of my Transformer DietBet, and my January Kickstarter. :) Here’s to making round 2, and my February kickstarters kick ass!
My plan for this week… • Monday - Walk, Biggest Loser Workout (BLW) & Kinect Sports • Tuesday - Walk & Gym • Wednesday - Walk, BLW, Aquafit • Thursday - Zumba, Gym & Kinect Sports • Friday - Gym & BLW • Saturday - BLW & Kinect Sports • Sunday - Rest Day
Adam and I like to Kinect Sports after dinner sometimes. I try to do BLW when Lily naps. I aim to go to the gym 3x for week 4 of C25K. Zumba is also on the Kinect, something while Lily sleeps. It's only going to be nice for 3 days this week and I'm hoping to take full advantage!
I haven’t really planned this week in food yet. But I know todays lunch will be a chicken ceasar salad and dinner is pulled pork. :)

what in the hell why would your mother be proud of you for eating bees what the fuck is this?
YES, WE HAD THIS IN NEW JERSEY. IS THIS NOT A THING?
We had it in Southern California! I’ll admit that I’ve sung it to people who have never heard it and they think it is VERY weird.
Not anywhere I lived. Though my mother did sing to me when I was a little boy, “What do you do with a drunken sailor.”
I sang this as a kid. In Norfolk, Virginia in the mid-80’s.
We had slightly different lyrics. “Squish squish squish squish squish” in descending notes.
Confirmed for 1980s Oregon, Portland’s West Side.
1980’s Seattle had this too.
1970s rural Alaska on board.
Confirmed for N. Georgia in the late 70s and in 2015 as the (much longer) version is still popular at girl scout camps.
Yeah that one’s pretty much Universal Americana. Unsure if they have it in other countries, but it isn’t rural and it’s in every region of the US.
We had it in the Midwest, but the bee guts got wiped off on shirts, not eaten, lol.
We had that one in the north of England, or something very like it…
on the bus on every school trip, oh yes we did
picking up my baby bumblebee
won’t my mum be ever so pleased with me
picking up my baby bumblebee
OW! it stung me!
and then
licking up…
sicking up…
sweeping up…
I had totally forgotten about this!
Yes, also for Cape Cod in Massachusetts in the late 80s and through the 90s.
Northeast Massachusetts confirming, also late 80s-90s. First time I sang that to my kids in daycare, though, my fellow teacher (same age as me but from Florida) had no idea what it was and was APPALLED.
Confirmed for NW Connecticut in the 90s (probably 80)
Confirmed 90’s middle Georgia
Confirmed for 90′s Chicago.
There was this fascinating article about “children culture” that was floating around that I reblogged and is in my archives somewhere
Confirmed for 1980’s Indiana.
Confirmed for late 80s-early 90s Maryland.
Confirmed for early 80s Seattle.
Confirmed for late 00′s VT.
I wasnt sure but now I’m honestly so glad this is something that holds us together like the idea that i could go to anyone anywhere and be like ‘hey man you know that song about killing bees’ and even if they didnt speak the same language i could like hum it and they’d be like ‘oH SHIT THE BEE KILLING SONG’
I DESPISE this song. Baby bumblebees are squishy larva. They can’t sting anyone. They don’t have stingers.
I know this bugged me too but i was 8 and at camp and if you didnt sing during circle time youd have to stand in the middle and dance alone next to the fire like some wird ass satanic bee killing ritual with everyone staring at you so we mostly just went with it
Yep this was a well known song when I was in Girl Scouts
This is so weird, out of no where I had this song stuck in my head this morning… We definitely sang this song. Kansas in the 80s-90s.
confirmed it is still sung in daycare’s today in Michigan.
Still singing it here in northern Canada!
My sister in law taught me this song a few months ago! Lily loves it!
I’ve gotten a few new followers since I’ve come back, so thought I would re-introduce myself.
Hi! I’m Kimberley. A 26 year old mom and wife from Southern Ontario, Canada. I’ve been on this journey many many times and I’ve always just made it to my goal (within 15 lbs) and quit. I’ve been a part of the tumblr community for awhile. I used to be super active, but as soon as you fall off the wagon and have no motivation to restart, its not a fun place to be.
But here I am yet again!
I have a very realistic approach to all of this. I know that we’re all human and can’t beat ourselves up if we’ve slipped up, or even indulged a bit. I strongly believe that sometimes you need to feed your soul and comfort food will so that for you. Heck, last night I had fries and wings for dinner. Was delicious.
I restarted this journey at 220 pounds and as i write this, im down to 212 with no signs of stopping. I’m currently participating in 3 DietBets. One is a 6-month transformation (10% over 6 months), and the other two are just Kickstarters (4% in 1 month).
Feel free to message me or whatever any time. I like to chat. I love to listen. And I’m always up for offering real - not sugar coated - advice. :)
Hello all. And welcome to my journey.
Oh yeah, hubby is Adam. We’ve been married since October 2015. And baby girl is Lily. Born May 2015.
You're hosting a February challenge?
Co-hosting, yes! My lovely friend John from @fatmaninalittlesuit asked me if I wanna join him and I am super excited about it! Together we will have an honest look at our personal definition of self-love and take it to a new level! We wanna identify certain patterns of our own behaviour where we might not be completely honest and using self-love as an excuse not to move out of our comfort zone. In the long run this “life avoiding’ behaviour leads to a low self-esteem. During the first week of the challenge we will observe our daily lives and watch out for situations that stress us and make us feel bad about ourselves. Every participant can create their own plan, everyone can go through the challenge picking their own pace and intensity. This is meant to give you the feeling that you don’t need someone else to tell you how to work on your self love. We think it’s very empowering to be honest with yourself and take responsibility for your own actions
Some more details on our self-love challenge. ☺
I'm gonna have to do this! Been feeling pretty hard on myself lately, as someone on the weight loss journey and a new mom and wife, will be good to reflect and find self love.
I don´t love my followers because they follow me
I love them because:
- a “like” in a post that took me time makes my day
- a *hugs* when I’m sad can make all the difference
- the effort to go on my ask box and talk to me makes me feel like I’m worth of something
- And because when you reblog something and fangirl with me I don´t feel so alone
So thank you for following me
This is the face of a mom who barely slept last night. Who had a baby that was so restless, nothing helped. This is the face of a mom who once awake, cannot easily fall back asleep, no matter the hour. The mom who let her baby lay on her chest most of the night, no matter how much she punched her or pulled her hair because for a few moments an hour, it kept her baby calm. This is a mom who has reached the end of the line for the day, and its only 10AM. This is a mom who feels helpless and has spent the good part of the past 8 hours crying. This is a mom who will keep going and keep pushing through the exhaustion, the tired-sick feeling, the inadequacy. This is me. Today, I am this mom.
Going on my honeymoon in July and just bought this bathing suit to wear. I ordered a M (I'm an XL). Now to fit into it. I plan on taking a picture when it gets here and then every month until the honeymoon to help track progress.
Oh I totally forgot that tomorrow I plan to take my little guy to the new Mom & Tots Aqua fit class in town. It’s 30 minutes and supposed to be super fun for kids and a good work out for mom. Can’t wait!
I wish I had a car to take Lily to the one here. Too damn cold to walk!
Got Lily to nap for about an hour. Turned on my biggest loser workout and did 20 mins of light (just getting back into it) and 10 mins of yoga. Feeling good! Can't wait for the gym at 530 and then a family walk at 730. I weigh in on Monday for my DietBets, so here's to giving this week my all and staying focused. I plan on having the ultimate cheat day on Monday. And then nothing again until Valentines Day!
Dusted this off today! The Biggest Loser for the Kinect. Did the fit test at the beginning and only lasted for 8.5 minutes. It had me laying down to do hip raises, but couldn't register it. So it stopped. By then baby girl had enough of her Jolly Jumper (all the set up and everything took about 20 mins). Hopefully I can get her to nap in her crib from now on and I'll do this on my scheduled days!
