Thank you. - Yupphire
Hello. My name is Yupphire and I am the head organizer of the Hermits and Friends Coloring Book. I'm writing this behalf of only myself instead of the organizers as a collective. I feel it's more genuine this way.
With a heavy heart, I'm announcing that the Hermits and Friends Coloring Book has been discontinued. Our previous editions are still up for download, but no more will be made. Around the time of making the 4th edition, I was burnt out from MCYT art projects as a whole. We took a hiatus until our planned April Fools edition, and I hoped I would regain my interest in Hermitcraft and this project by extension. That didn't happen. I'd simply fallen out of interest and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I considered making another edition anyways, but it felt incredibly disingenuous to make something that was supposed to be a passion project when I didn't even feel passionate about it anymore. So I supposed it was time to let this project rest.
This is certainly not to say I regretted making the coloring book. Far from it. This is still one of my favorite creative projects I have ever taken part in. I've met so many great people and I've built such a great community. Not only that, but I've grown so much as an artist because of the Hermits and Friends Coloring Book. This also isn't the end of me running zines and similar projects. Even if they're not MCYT related, I'd still love to do something like this again someday. I ran an Art Exchange Secret Santa in December and loved doing it! But nevertheless, my passions have migrated to other things. If you're interested in said passions, you can find me at @yupphire. Absolutely no pressure though. You'll be severely disappointed if you go in expecting Hermitcraft art lol
Lastly, I don't think I have thanked everyone enough. Whether you're an artist who took part in the book since the beginning to someone who has simply followed the project and given it their support. Thank you so much. I cannot emphasize enough how much your support means to me. I'm so happy that people have enjoyed my silly little passion project. Even if I've moved on from Hermitcraft, I still value all of you. You are all seriously the best. Take care, everyone.
