if you’re a white creator and your brown/black characters are always sassy, reckless, aggressive or cold and your white characters are always soft, demure, shy and introverted you should think about maybe why you did that

sorry to hijack your post, but imo this also applies to colourism dynamics, even if you have a full cast of colour. like i can only confidently speak from the south asian context, but RAMPANT colourism in the community has given rise to and perpetuated these same stereotypes of people with darker skin being more aggressive and sexually promiscuous than the “reserved, civilised” light skins. 

This applies to your wlw and mlm ships as well. If the lighter or white one is always sweeter, nicer, softer, more innocent, or more feminine and the darker or poc one is always meaner, louder, more aggressive, more sexual, or more masculine then you’ve got a problem sweetie and that’s racism.

i knew somebody in recovery who had a system of 12 personalities that he drew out in a nested chart for me. they did not remember each other's experiences. and it was cool! i could talk with one alter and then catch up another alter later about what we talked about! it was fun!

i knew a girl with psychosis who heard voices in static and running water but didn't want to get rid of them cause they never said anything distressing and they were familiar and comfortable. that's awesome! how cool is the variance of human experience??

I finally switched to firefox and I've seen a lot of posts about the effortless importing of preferences from chrome and how it's important to support non-chromium platforms, but nobody is talking about the loss of productivity that happens when beautiful women come to your house to kiss you on the mouth because they heard you use firefox now. nobody's talking about this

yet again thinking about the fact that miles edgeworth did die like his father. a prosecutor killed him, the cruel, cravat-wearing, product-of-a-system kind of prosecutor, and he had no choice, really: how could a man like him let him live after the last trial? at least, everyone sees it that way. and another thing is, franziska von karma gets injured like her father did: shot in the shoulder so all-of-a-sudden, unwilling to accept help, angry.

and then the rejection of said fate happens, unexpected by all, a big "fuck you, everyone" happens, a "just like their father? afraid not". miles edgeworth is alive, a prosecutor and a truth-seekeer, the one who helps: things that should not go together, according to the laws of the world in people's heads. franziska von karma removes the bullet without a second thought, with the help of, mind you, a doctor, goes back to court and doesn't throw a tantrum about penalties. and help is important here, because miles edgeworth wasn't alone in his not-so-death: gumshoe knew, at the very least; franziska even gets a visit from the defense attorney in the hospital, franziska accepts the whip back from miles, franziska cries and franziska talks and says what she means. miles edgeworth comes back in aa2-4 to help a dear friend; franziska von karma helps her dear dumbass of a brother in aa3, too. they reach out and they accept people doing the same - what a surprise. they don't follow the fates of their fathers because their fathers weren't the only people in their lives. their fates are willingly, on purpose, intertwined with many other, and so in that chaotic arrangement they become the most unpredictable threads of all, building their own lives and themselves. cheesy way to end a post, whatever, i don't care, it's sit in the corner and cry about the von karma siblings saturday.

side note: actually, they both came back to help because maya was missing. how much power does this girl have

Well we don’t know the value of an Algerian life in France but we sure now know the reward for killing one.

This is Nimona and her supervillain friend (He doesn’t have a name yet, I’m working on that). Nimona is his sidekick/squire, they’re like the Batman and Robin of slightly Medieval villains, but she’s actually way more evil than him. He does what he does to make a point, and he doesn’t really want anyone get hurt - Nimona just gets a kick out of destroying stuff.

I’m going to attempt to make a two page comic with them? We’ll see how this goes.

hey now that it’s disability pride month can you please remember to include people with Down syndrome and other chromosomal defects into your activism. they’re so often left behind. I literally never see anyone spreading Down syndrome awareness that isn’t close family of someone with Down syndrome. They exist and they’re living breathing humans who deserve just as much activism as every other disabled person

The whole point of writing fascist characters as human beings is that real fascists are also human beings. If you think of fascists as somehow less than human you are falling into the trap of letting their mentality frame your worldview, thus legitimizing their course of action!

When you start looking at fascists as subhuman the debate becomes 'which group is actually subhuman and which is being unfairly maligned?' And personally I'm not fucking comfortable with that question being on the table ever.

#ADDITIONALLY #it makes recognizing fascist ideology in the people around you so much harder #bc if you know someone as a person #and a fascist isn't a person #then clearly this person can't be a fascist #or have fascist views #they're your colleague or your neighbor or your family member #they are way too human to be fascist
