So its Comicon tomorrow and Moo asked if she could go as ‘Eto’ from Tokyo Ghoul..
Lots of swearing and sewn fingers later the outfit was done and this was just taken from a quick last minute costume check ..
Or Shrunken Shinigami..
Its Halloween again soon and this year we decided to combine my daughters love of Cosplay and Anime with this years outfit.
It took about three weeks to put together in the end.
For those who may not know, the character she is playing is Ryuk, from the anime 'Death Note'.
Ryuk is a Shinigami( a Death God) whose book,The Death Note works when a persons name is written within it whilst the writer focuses on the victims face. A persons name in the book, if the other rules are followed ...will result in their death.
A little Aliens cosplay.
Noel Taylor took about 6 months to make the xenomorph costume, he made the pulse rifle too.
Mercy loves Aliens, so cosplaying Ripley was a no brainer XD
So, The Moo had a small role(Jess) in one of the secret scenes for the BBC’s Hetty Feather series based on the Jacqueline Wilson books.
So recently I attended our local Comicon event.
Having seen this outfit worn I tracked down the gentleman behind it to ask if he wanted to do a shoot and he agreed.
The Cosplay is inspired by the upcoming short film’The Wicked One’ the cosplayer Steven Evans..and of course my ever happy to get a chance to do something creepy daughter.

So my daughter has just started Northern Lights. I decided to take full advantage of this and do a little photoshoot with her. No stuffed toys were harmed in the making of these images and yes, I did paint the background in PS. From scratch. Me. I did that. Nerr.

So it was book day at the youngest spawns school.
She specifically asked if she could go as Lyra..so we put together a costume and her father made some rather snazzy battle armour..

Its Halloween again soon and this year we went all out.
Since watching AHS Freakshow I knew it was going to be Twisty so spent a good while making an outfit from old bedsheets , a swimming cap, some old hair extentions, some red ribbon, flowers from broken headbands and a bit of facepaint.
The mask is made from old packing foam and acrylic paint.
Add one 11year old with a deep love of all things creepy..
She will be wearing this to trick or treat ..most definitely :)
So took the youngest Spawn to Comicon..
She wanted to go as Grell, so it took a while to get the outfit together, but I reckon she likes it:)
But the thought of being a lunatic did not greatly trouble him; the horror was that he might also be wrong.....

Moo and I got published in GothesqueJnr magazine Tribal Expressions edition.
She is really proud as she got a back cover :)

Its the Easter holidays so we had time to shoot again.
We had a loose idea of where we were going, threw in some facepaints a blanket, some feathers from Odeen(our Raven, hence the name idea) and an old necklace..and this is what we came up with
Playing with Princesses...
We live near the beach and have never tried doing anything with the sand..
So, we went for a dreamlike 'into her imagination' type of concept.
it was..a sheer nightmare, the beach was far from empty, footprints all over the sand, then there was the problem of being able to get high enough so as I could shoot..
Still they are not terrible..and they make me smile..
So, this happened..
I got a message to say the image had hit the news in Nigeria, so I wondered why.
Paul Okeye had used it on his instagram.
Ok thought I , I will mail him, ask him to credit please, beings that he has a LOT of followers..and it is my work..itll be fine..
As you can see, his email wasnt so great in reply.
In fact, it was more than a little out of order..
The image has now been removed but Ive popped the screenshots in along with a screenshot of some of the news reports..
