The thing is that it doesn't even make sense at the very first glance as a material to make a submarine out of. The main draw of carbon fiber is how lightweight it is. Yknow if you're trying to fly. This isn't really, like... correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that not really matter on a submarine. Aren't there other ways you control buoyancy. Am I losing my mind

Another thing about carbon fiber is that it doesn't bend. Once it's been through enough stress, or experienced enough repeated stress (I.e. pressure changes in flying and landing, or. Submerging and coming back up. If you're making a submarine out of it for some fucking reason), where other materials might noticeably warp, carbon fiber will just break. It just snaps. Estimating when this will happen is a Whole Thing. They take it very seriously in aerospace engineering. It turns out rich people don't though
One of the few ways an airplane actually *is* very similar to a submarine is that if the hull cracks you will die very quickly
