It's obvious as to why Geto is important to Gojo and how Geto effected him but I don't think it's talked about enough of the reversal

That's a good observation anon, the story makes it less obvious what Geto needs Gojo for, while spending a long time lingering on the tragedy of Geto's loss and what the loss of his only real friend meant for Gojo.

The itafushi angst is out here for all of our lives but ignoring for a moment I need to take the moment to fully appreciate the fact that where satoru and suguru failed to immediately action after kenjaku arrives at shibuya; but where as soon as megumi is taken over by sukuna, both yuuji and megumi donot waste another moment and start retaliating to the point where sukuna has to actually take them seriously. Satoru's love for suguru made him falter in the final second and quite literally completely changed the world for the worse, whereas yuuji's love for megumi made him more decisive than ever to fight every punch and kick to save megumi. All of their stories come full circle to their origins, suguru didn't want to be saved by satoru even when satoru offered to give up everything for that and in the end their love ended up cursing each other , whereas megumi asked yuuji to save him, when yuuji didn't believe in his capability of saving anyone; and this chapter is the direct parellal to the first chapter- yuuji fighting till the very end to save people, even if it's just one person; because that one person means the world to him, yuuji saved megumi the day they met and if it means guiding megumi to his proper death, then that is the saving yuuji is willing to do in the present, their love gives them the strength to achieve things that the two strongest sorcerers of their generation weren't able to achieve.

I've always really loved how Geto's trauma has been portrayed. His weight loss is a small detail that I love even though it's sad and besides that his messy, unruly hair (even in scenes where he had his hair tied in a bun it still looked unkempt) and the way he didn't even wear his uniform properly anymore... :( These little details make his story so sad; he didn't have the motivation anymore to do even the simplest of things. This is something that is very important to show when you're portraying depression and trauma in media and Gege (and Mappa) did it perfectly.

For anime onlys this episode was really important. All they know about Geto is from the movie where he was an antagonist and it's important for them to know what exactly happened that made Geto become like that.

Geto was empathetic, kind, caring, and loving. But he's the one who suffered the most from being a jujutsu sorcerer. First of all, his cursed technique is the hardest both mentally and physically. It's literally described as “the taste of a cursed spirit no one knows... Like swallowing whole a cloth that was used to wipe up vomit”. Consuming people's negative emotions daily? It's understandable why Geto felt so shitty after doing it.

But after seeing people cheering at Riko's death, seeing his friends die protecting non-sorcerers, seeing a whole village of more than a hundred residents call on for the death of two little girls, it's very understandable why Geto just snapped. He undertook so much burden and pain, so much suffering and hardship, and all it resulted in was humans mistreating sorcerer's in such a horrible way.

That's when this quote comes: “it's just that in a world like this, I couldn't laugh from the bottom of my heart”. He couldn't live in a world where he and other jujutsu sorcerers were treated in such a way. And that's how he started away from his ideals.

I really hope I don't have to see anime onlys blindly hate on him anymore now that his full story and trauma is in front of them.

Geto Suguru I love and appreciate you so much :(

List of “sweet and intimate actions which make me go feral and have me folding like a folding chair” prompts 
  1. Character B carding their fingers through Character A’s hair and playing with the strands.
  2. Character B peeling back the neck of Character A’s turtle neck sweater to trail gentle kisses down their neck. (This!! It is so hot, and it's everything I didn't know I needed until now, and I cannot stop thinking about it wlkfnlkwe)
  3. Character B placing their arm around Character A’s waist while in public, resting their chin on Character A’s shoulder. “Hello,” they say in a teasing tone as Character A tries to grab ahold of their hand to keep it there but fails a few times before successfully doing so. 
  4. Leaning against each other while in public.
  5. Spooning and back hugs.
  6. Character B letting Character A rest their head on their chest; lets them listen to their heart beat. 
  7. Character B whispering sweet nothings into Character A’s ear.
  8. Character B checking in on Character A to make sure they’re comfortable and okay with the way things are going; to make sure they’re not being too much. “You’re not,” Character A would reassure, repositioning themselves to get closer to Character B.
  9. Just cuddles and snuggles in general.
  10. Neck kisses.
  11. Kisses littered all over the face. (!!! It's one thing to read about it and one thing to experience it wlejbfewljn)
  12. Character B tucking Character A’s head under their chin while they’re cuddling.
  13. Character B nuzzling their neck and breathing in Character A’s scent/fragrance, and commenting on how nice they smell.
  14. Character B making sure Character A gets home safe by driving them home.
  15. Character A telling Character B to message them when they get back home safe, and once Character B gets home, they follow through by sending a message to let Character A know they’ve gotten back home safe.
  16. Taking naps together, from day till night, waking up every now and then to get more snuggles in. 
  17. That soft exhalation of adoring laughter leaving Character B’s mouth after kissing Character A (this shit had me folding so fucking hard it’s not even funny. I Am Weak). 
  18. That soft exhalation of laughter once again just because Character B is so content with having Character A in their presence, and Character A just basking in how cute that sound is and how happy it makes them. 
  19. Character B entangling their legs with Character A’s, pressing their bodies flush against each other’s, leaving little to no space between them. (It’s almost like they can’t get enough of Character A.) 
  20. Kissing so many times, to the point where they lose track of how many times they’ve kissed already. 
  21. Holding hands and lacing their fingers together while they’re cuddling.
  22. Comparing hand sizes and giggling about it together.
  23. Character B stroking Character A’s hair while they’re asleep. (Or uh, pretends to be asleep DJSKKSKDSK but it’s so FUCKING CUTE WHEN HE DID THAT IM GONNA SCREAM, me thinking moments like these only happen in Korean dramas or some shit anfkakfksk-)
  24. The sweet little banters in between; Character B being all cheesy and Character A playfully deflecting their comments only for Character B to playfully push back with an “Is something wrong with that?” or “But I’m not lying.”
  25. Falling asleep in each other’s arms, both not wanting to leave the bed for the entire day and wanting to stay comfortably snuggled up against each other instead.
  26. Character B placing their hands on Character A’s shoulders, and Character A, with a grin on their face, gently grabs Character B’s hands and wraps their arms around their neck while leaning back into them. Character B reciprocates by hugging them closer to them.
  27. The soft noises of content Character A makes when they snuggle closer to Character B, or when they want Character B to hold them closer to them, with Character B happily obliging. 
  28. Character B rubbing their cheek against Character A’s.
  29. Character B trying to not wake Character A up because they look so comfortable when sleeping. (His words, not mine.) 
  30. Soft, repeated pecks on the lips, causing Character A to laugh/smile against Character B’s lips.
