No mourners, no funerals. Another way of saying good luck. But it was something more. A dark wink to the fact that there would be no expensive burials for people like them, no marble markers to remember their names, no wreaths of myrtle and rose.
Eloise Protecting Pen Vs Pen "Protecting" Eloise. A Contrast.
Both seasons of Bridgerton ends with either Eloise or Penelope "protecting" the other from the queen.
Season 1 ends with Eloise sneaking out from Daphne's ball in order to hinder an attempt to reveal LW. She does so because she thinks that she has convinced LW to take back the damaging stuff she said about Marina and Pen's family. Although she was mistaken as to LW's identity, the fact it was Pen all along did mean she was saved.
So Eloise's motive was to protect Pen, and the outcome was that Pen was protected, and Eloise decided to risk herself in order to protect Pen. She risked the queen's wrath, when she knew the queen was determined to unveil LW. None of this mattered. She wanted to help her friend and this was the way to do it.
When Pen decided to "protect" Eloise, she did so by taking information given to her in trust, exposing it to the entire world in the most inflammatory terms possible, and then played the victim when Eloise found out.
Penelope did this instead of coming forward as LW, having dismissed the suggestion out of hand on the flimsy reasoning that the Queen "might not believe her", even though Pen has accomplices to back her up.
She does this instead of writing favourable things about the Queen, because she doesn't want to change what she writes to protect her friend. She does this instead of telling Eloise so she and Eloise can make a plan together, because she doesn't want Eloise to know about LW, possibly because she's scared of Eloise "taking over".
All of this Penelope prioritised avoiding over not causing Eloise pain.
When Eloise wanted to protect Penelope, she risked her own neck. When Penelope wanted to protect Eloise, she risked Eloise's neck too.
i like to think Marinette is really skilled at cake decorating. it's a different artistic medium but one she picks up quickly and finds very relaxing. she LOVES piping intricate designs and making realistic gumpaste flowers. it's calming to her. whenever she's stressed, Tom will ask her for her help with decorating a cake, and it instantly chills her out. she gets into the Zone.
the first time she makes Adrien a cake, he is mesmerized by the amount of detail. perfectly piped rosettes and lettering, wishing him a happy half-birthday or something of those sorts. he almost doesn't want to eat it because of how pretty it is, but they enjoy a slice together. he loves how artistic she is, and the cake tastes good too! after dating her for a few months and spending time at the bakery, he begins to become familiar with her piping style, and loves watching her make perfect droplines or buttercream roses. he thinks it's especially cute how her tongue pokes out of her mouth when she focuses. she's always showing him something new she's learned. he's aware she's amazing (his own words), yet she still always manages to surprise him.
later, when ladybug shows up to patrol with a cake to celebrate their defeat of a particularly difficult akuma, chat noir recognizes Marinette’s handwriting in the piped message on the top of the cake, and his chest warms with affection knowing ladybug purchased this cake from his girlfriend's parents' bakery.
"It's a beautiful cake," he would say, thinking of Marinette poking her tongue out as she piped the buttercream border. his love for her surely spills out in the softness of his voice, but he can't help himself. he adores Marinette!
Ladybug would be all bright smiles, beaming with pride. "Thank you," she'd respond. "I decorated it myself!"
Houston, we are horny 🚨
ANOTHER LONG POST for the Bridgerton over-analysis corner! SEASON 3 TRAILER & PROMO ANALYSIS
I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING!!
THAT IS VIOLET BRIDGERTON! IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIRST "NON-INTRO" SHOT WITH FRANCESCA!
The first shot of any main character in the entire trailer is this one. Francesca is dancing with a suitor, the camera pushes forward and directs the eye right to Violet who is standing right in the middle, but with an unknown man in front of her.
Oh, I think there are going to be so many parallels between these two this season--especially in terms of romance. They have mostly been seen together or with "suitors" during all these promos and/or in direct comparison/association with one another.
MORE EVIDENCE:
SECOND SHOT of either of them: they are together--and are shown to be equals here, as compared to how Violet was when she presented Daphne or Eloise to the Queen:
Violet, with her other two daughters, was standing BEHIND them! (Also on their right side.) Now she's on the left, standing at Francesca's side--presenting them as equals.
Also, she isn't matching with Francesca like she was Eloise and Daphne--her outfit for this event changed slightly between the first two seasons (take note of the collar and crown), but has now changed dramatically. She at first presented herself as a fellow debutante (take note of the white dress and the gloves), but now is sporting a silver dress with long sleeves with clear grecian influence.
Violet has CHANGED, she isn't a background to or support for her daughter, she is her own person in front of the whole ton. She is also being "presented" in a way, but as this new self.
There is a new Viscountess, more of her children are married and leaving, and (as of Queen Charlotte we know that) she has had a lot of realizations about her marriage and sexuality. The world she knew as Viscountess and wife to Edmund is slowly changing, fading away to something new that she is beginning to embrace.
I think we will see her come more into her own, and not just as a mother or widow--this will be reflected in Francesca, who is going to struggle with finding a relationship that lives up to her mother & father's (and those of her siblings), especially watching her mother finally start to move on.
Right after this sequence is a sequence of Violet and her presumed new love interest, directly associating the two--they are also linked with the narration "what is the primary force that guides us along our paths?" A question I feel will be explored by the both of them.
It seems as if Violet is accepting this new love this season. Francesca, on the other hand, will struggle with romance this season. Every time we have seen her on her own, or with or having just spoken to suitors she seems unsure, worried.
Violet watches her sit at this ball (the Four Seasons one) and takes a breath and sighs in an interesting way--sort of knowingly but resigned(?).
It is also interesting to note within this dynamic that this is Francesca's first season, but not Violet's--as a mother or debutante.
TRAILER ANNOUNCEMENT:
Also, when looking at their appearances in the trailer announcement, it is interesting to see the difference in how they both were portrayed.
Violet is looking, then pulls back to look on in question, as if realizing something, but is curious for more. Francesca opens it and looks unsure again, twisting her mouth. I feel like this is reflective of how their seasons will be.
I just find the clear connection between their stories that the trailer in particular wants us to take note of to be very interesting. It is exciting to see how they will both grow/change. Especially being mother and daughter, which is a dynamic that has been explored to an extent in this show (thinking of Daphne and Violet in season 1, but even that didn't feel fleshed out), but not much. _______________
BUT ANYWAY to others who have read my other Bridgerton posts, omg thanks for chatting and indulging me in this.
I just finished a big film shoot for a project so this has been a nice reprieve from the stress of that.
Hope you are doing well!
The room has become rather tense, has it not?
the comedy potential of dregs businesses that aren't the gambling halls is going untapped tbh... kaz mentions that 'the money will be laundered through one of the dregs businesses' at the end of the heist, which raises the question: what businesses. he probably means the clubs, but I like to imagine that post-CK, kaz is bored, they need to launder money, and they also could do with SOME veneer of respectability... and so kaz sighs and asks, reluctantly, if anyone has any ideas. BOY DO THEY. keeg and pim run such a good brunch joint that there'd be street riots if they were shut down and no one minds that occasionally, unconscious people are stashed in the walk-in. anika is delegated responsibility for the dregs gay bar, and kaz tips the dirtyhands drag kings every time he passes through. they make their own gin in some shitty warehouse down in the zelver district like the 1920s prohibition. they opened a bookshop up near the exchange for some fucking reason, but they get a decent trade from the students and academics. and kaz can run a local theatre spot or be an impresario for the arts he'd LOVE that. every time inej gets back they've opened some new bullshit and kaz is counting the cash intake like >:] but it stops him getting bored and gnawing on the bars of his enclosure so. sure. he can run a takeaway.

"She is who I shall marry."
How it's going
"...my beautiful wife."
Ladybug has a sketchbook full of Chat Noir drawings and studies. She often brings it with her during patrol and says "Oh, I just need to do some anatomy studies and experiment with my pens" but in actuality, she just wants to draw her Chaton <333
And Chat Noir absolutely LOVES it. It's not like when he's modelling where the final photographs are airbrushed and edited to 'perfection'. It's how Ladybug visualises him; he looks stunning in every drawing. It makes him feel pretty and like she can truly see him.
Sometimes, Ladybug does give in to Chat Noir's pleading eyes and allows him to keep a few drawings. He has them framed on Plagg's mini cheese fridge.
