He didn't try to rebuild that fallen kingdom with the same loyalty and togetherness only to be betrayed and left behind by the ones he'd dedicated his life to and be permakilled by the very man he died for in 3rd Life for you to say he's not tragic.

He didn't give up his last time and life to his team (the last words he heard being "I wish you were better at this game," and HIS last words being a quiet, sad, "Me too...") for him to LOSE OUT on the "Most Tragic" category!!

it drives me insane that 3l!martyn was supposed to be selfish. he was supposed to be untrustworthy, and manipulative, and untamable. he should’ve been a traitor. and martyn is selfish. he knows what he wants and he (usually) knows how to get what he wants. this is especially exhibited in last life and limited life.

so, the altar scene. every treebark girlie knows it. martyn gets what he wants. and martyn doesn’t want to hurt ren (not yet, he tells himself, like a gayass fucking liar). but ren is asking him to. it’s just so wild to me that to someone as selfish as martyn, ren’s orders take priority over martyn’s own wants.

It’s been a few months since Empires s2 came to an end and I wanted to make a piece reflecting on the time we spent with these characters 🥰✨ When season 1 ended I did a series of paintings set to the End Poem, and so I decided to revisit the concept once again, making sure to switch up which line corresponded to which person. This series means a lot to me—in fact, this is one of two big Empires s2 projects I’ve been working on! There’s another one still in the works :D

every once and a while i see empires (particularly s1) fics where Fwhip’s full name is “Fail Whip” (aka what his username actually stands for). i entirely understand why people do this HOWEVER. the implication that fwhip and gem’s parents named their children “gemini” and “FAIL”?????? funniest thing ever especially because no one ever questions it.
