a closure to “time spent with you”

this sounds more dramatic than what it is (it kinda is to me) but some of you might remember time spent with you on ao3. i’ll hyperlink it ofc. the last time i updated it was back in 2019 and my last note says that i have a couple of chapters already written for it, which was true, but a lot of things happened as 2019 ended - with my family and my relationship with other people and work and it was basically just a mess. i eventually lost my interest in writing the story even though it was - and still is - my most successful story so far. 

hell, even after months of not posting, i was still getting comments and kudos from people and i spent my time reading these comments, feeling happy because apparently i did well enough for them to WANT to read more but also felt bad because it felt like i was letting these people down. the writer in me who seeks validation really wants to continue fleshing out the whole thing, but i just feel like i’d be forcing myself and i know more than anyone that doing so usually leads to me losing interest all over again so yeah.

 this post is basically me giving closure to tswy. thank you for reading, being there with me and leaving comments. they really encouraged me a lot to write twsy until life decided to step on the brakes.

After realizing I have too many bookmarks with Kara/Lena I felt it was time to make a list of the cream of the crop. This is gonna be a series, 5 fics at a time.

Listen, about the SUPERCORP KISSED tag on twitter, i've seen a few post here calling them (us, i guess, since i participated) out for confusing the fandom. But let me tell you, it wasn't done maliciously, at least not as far as I can tell (obviously I can't speak for everyone). The first manip was done yesterday, and went sort of viral, and people started responding with it to the cwsg twitter account, and calling them out for the queerbaiting, and they have been posting all this week, which they haven't done in all the season, so things went from there.

Then this happened (and i don't know if it was the first but it was the one i saw):

And the trend started immediately, it was basically surreal. It went to trend pretty much in 10 min. And it kept going and going. And I think here is when the confusion started, because it was a petty thing, but i don't think it was malicious, but the tag grew so big so fast, that people that were shippers but are not around much in fandom started getting confused. And then the k@ramels(pls dni) shippers starting mocking, which escalated things even more. And the way that those two fandoms interact is pretty volatile.

Then more manips started coming out (pretty good ones, tbh) of cameras supposedly filming the scene. Again, it was something petty, but ultimately harmless. But get this there were new "pics" and "scripts" coming out that even a few people that were trending since the beggining, and saw the original tweet with the manip, started to think that there was a kiss that was filmed and cut. So there was a mess... (I personally just assumed everything was fake)

The tag grew so much, that some press people did buy into it. (In a very andrea rojas catco editor in chief, these people didn't fact check anything 😂)

The thing is that most people (that i saw, anyways. Including myself) were doing it just for fun. And because of said tag, some press is talking about the queerbaiting the cw employs pretty much in all their shows, and especifically in supergirl. Also, some people started using the trending topic to boost a fundraiser that was posted a few days back for the trevor project, in name of supercorp. So good thing, yeah?

Listen it's hard to control the social media of it all, and especially with this type of engagement, while i'm writing this the trend has 80k tweets, which is the biggest SC has everdone. And it was umprompted, in a fandom that was strung along for 5 years, so I won't blame them for trying to have some fun with the hand they've been dealt.

So tl;dr: sorry the thing on twitter confused part of the fandom. It was not malicious and it was just for fun. (Can't talk for all the fandom, but yeah? I guess?)
