quite the strength of character, this incarnation, hm?

Fel, Internete Olde(tm), once and future nerd, professional social media cryptid. an individual of mysterious and indistinct gender. the queer ace eldritch being your podcasts warned you about.this blog is basically my personal online scrapbook and the tags are me scribbing notes in the margins next to the cuttings i've taped in. current dominant flavour: doctor who ft. my undying love for the 13th doctor and me being deranged on main abt the best enemies

in general i would say that “it’s not fun if they’re totally unrecognisable” is my fandom thesis. like the point of fanfic etc is putting your favourite little guys in situations. where’s the appeal if they’ve been through so many fanon spin cycles that they’re barely even your guys anymore

loads of people are reblogging this like “this is why i don’t like AUs” and honestly this is not an anti AU post by any stretch of the imagination. if you think “alternate universe fic” = “completely unrecognisable characters” then love and light but you need to read some better AUs!! putting your little guys in a completely different setting or time period or making them baristas or racing drivers or pop stars or whatever doesn’t inherently render them unrecognisable and in fact the APPEAL of a well done AU fic is seeing how your favourite guys deal with a completely different set of circumstances. support your local wacky AU today x

Head in my fucking hands thinking about that one part in the KnK event where Mephy says that "unless you pour mud in the grail and force [Artoria] to drink it she will never turn evil" but in Heaven's Feel that is literally what happens to Artoria and even then. Even then. She wasn't evil. She's an antagonist who stands in your way but she is not evil. Her goal isn't to cause pain and suffering her goal isn't to gain power or wealth or fun or anything self-serving like that her goal isn't even to serve Sakura any more than necessary. Saber Alter wants Sakura to be saved and the way for Sakura to be saved is for Saber Alter to die.

love that moment when you're writing and you realise the decision you made for a thing to happen in a particular location purely bc it makes mechanical + plot sense with stuff you already established not only works for those reasons... but also for metaphorical reasons as well. love it when i am accidentally smart, love it even more when i actually catch it WHILE i am writing and i can pretend that i intended it right from the beginning

Ok fine here's a serious pitch for Fate/Stay Night. What makes a hero? What makes a villain? What makes a victim and what makes a monster? How does one upholod their ideals? What is an acceptable cost to do so? What if this ideal isn't originally yours? What if this ideal will eventually destroy you? What if demands you to sacrifice people dear to you?

You have three routes. Three perspectives. And three answers.

I’ve spent the past few months attempting to figure out a framework for Ghost Physics in the Danny Phantom universe? Enjoy my crazed scribblings.

Cliff notes version: The Ghost Zone is our dimension’s 4D “atmosphere,” absorbing harmful trans-dimensional radiation. Ghosts are made of the Ghost Zone’s version of matter, called ectoplasm, a substance capable of 4D motion (video explanation of that), “toggling” how physical forces (esp. electromagnetism and gravity) interact with it, and storing huge amounts of energy. A ghost’s unique nervous system and encoded body plan (the ecto-signature) remains in the upper energy levels of the Ghost Zone at all times, remotely controlling their body. Danny can chemically change his body between ectoplasm and regular matter, and has both a normal physical brain and an ecto-signature.

A Literal Essay:

LIFE 😊 IT NEVER🙅‍♂️ DIE🪦 WOMEN👩 ARE MY FAVORITE❤️ GUY🧍‍♂️ SEX💦😩 IM WANTING MORE🙏 TELL THE WORLD🗣️🌎 STOP 🛑THE WAR‼️ BOOM💥 HEAR👂 THE BASS🔊 GO ZOOM🏃‍♂️ HAVE A BODY🕺 FEEL THE GROOVE💃 CYBER 🤖SYSTEM🖥️ OVERLOAD💥 EVERYBODY MOVEMENT🕺🕺🕺🕺

making another Extremely Niche AU under the readmore bc the concept just exploded into my brain and if i do not put it out somewhere in the ether my head will EXPLODE but afaik none of my usual AU criminal crowd (tm) have seen the pink shark movie yet

“transition poses some ethical questions. Such as, from what age should you be allowed to irreversibly change your body.“

This of course completely ignores the fact that puberty makes irreversible changes to your body. But let us just rephrase the question: “from what age do you gain bodily autonomy?” Now it gets very easy to answer: From the moment you’re fucking born.

I’m sorry, I’m reblogging this twice in a row it is that important

Stand up and say it again for the people in the back row.

This is all completely true and correct, of course, but on the topic of changes that irreversibly change a child’s body, prithee, go and talk to a fucking ballet dancer.

If you start ballet at 16, you are too old to ever expect to be able to do it seriously. If you start at 12 you’re too old. If you want to do ballet as a serious thing, as a career, you need to start at like eight years old or even younger, because your bones and joints need to be trained while they’re still flexible in order for you to be able to perform many of the required motions and stances of ballet. In particular, you need to be able to perform turnout of the hips, but all of your joints in your legs and feet will be affected, and this irreversibly changes your body.

And yet! Nobody talks about this as a negative thing! Little girls say they want to be ballet dancers, and if their parents have enough money, that’s what they get to be! Does it cause problems in later life? Yeah, sometimes! Often, even! But nobody talks about that because it’s a thing for cis people to do and so naturally it’s all fine!

Go and talk to a fucking ballet dancer.

Even common everyday sports do this. If you play soccer for a few consecutive years sometime between the ages of 8 and 15 it will permanently affect your knees. If you play a lot of soccer and for longer it will affect the entirety of legs, muscle and bone, and not for the better. Almost every soccerplayer in the world has a shortening of the back of the thigh muscle that will cause pain as they age. Most develop severe knee problems by the age of 30. People don’t age out of sports in general around 30 because they’ve “passed their prime physical condition” in the sense that age has taken it’s toll, but in the sense that the sport itself has taken it’s toll. And yet, no one is advocating against letting children play sports.
