Seeing Sei break down like that hurt Ryuuhou more than he thought it would. He knew this moment was coming, for a long time. He didn't know much about Sei's life, he knew all he had to.
Seeing his tears stabbed him through the heart, though. There was no way he could avoid that.
Ryuuhou quickly got onto Sei's level, dropping to his knees next to the boy and grasping one of his hands, gently rubbing the back and using the other-- after removing his glove-- to wipe away the tears.
He wanted to hold Sei close, tell him everything's okay. Rock him back and forth and mutter sweet things into his ear to calm him down.
What was stopping him?
Ryuuhou took both of Sei's hands, pulling them slowly off of his face and placing a gentle kiss both of them. He shifted to sit in front of him, pulling the boy close and holding him to his chest. Stroking his back and softly hushing him.
"That's true, you're not. You're old enough to be independent now, my Princess. Ah... How I wish I could rescue you." The last part was muttered, almost to himself.
"You're aware I'm here for you. I'm very glad you came to me, Sei-san. I understand... Ah, I'm not very good at finding the right words." Ryuuhou shifted into a more comfortable position.
"However, you can vent your heart out to me. There's no guarantee the person or people hurting you will come out unscathed, though." His tone, towards the end, had maybe a bit too large of a serious tone.
