Frozen 2 review
*Spoilers*
I’m going to focus on the main characters evolution throughout the story, not the Northuldra tribe, despite how interesting their story was.
Delving straight into the movie I’m not really going to talk about the prologue of sorts to the movie as I felt that was so stereotypically Disney, and what I loved about this movie was how fresh it felt. That said the song Elsa and Anna’s mum sings is magnificent.
The second song, “Some things never change” stages a very beautiful autumnal Arendelle. Anna and Olaf’s friendship is the first we see in this movie and one of the purest though a close second is Sven and Kristoff. After a sing, dance and cozy-looking festivities throughout the city, the main characters retreat for a more intimate evening, including one of the first of many jabs at the first movies villain, Hans.
“Into the unknown”, though a beautiful song and the elegant visual representation of Elsa’s growing confusion and curiosity, is slightly overrated compared to one of the later songs. However, it does begin the intrigue of the movie with the “possessing” of Arendelle. The people are forced to evacuate and Elsa decides to go after the spirits herself, much to the dismay of Kristoff as she requests to borrow Sven.
Moving forward Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and Kristoff have arrived at the enchanted forest, following a lengthy voyage, entertainment provided by Olaf (It’s true, wombats really do poop square!) This is also the first time we see the sisters’ main outfits for the movie which are vastly more sophisticated than the previous outfits. The forest itself proves more sophisticated also than the settings for the first film, again beautiful autumnal colors radiating through the trees. One thing that does feel strained is the comedy from Olaf, the other characters are blessed with surprisingly mature humor, but not Olaf. Then again his target audience is kids and every child in my theatre laughed pretty much every time he spoke. One of his lines did resonate with me though when he is playing with the children after the evacuation. On the subject of humor I also really appreciated the light jabs at the first movie: two or three pokes at Hans, Olaf poking fun at Elsa whilst playing charades, Elsa’s cringing at herself during “Let it go”.
Now for one of my favorite songs of the movie, “Lost in the woods”, Anna and Olaf have followed Elsa and Kristoff finds himself left behind with Sven, so naturally, his response is to break into a power ballad. At first, I was skeptical, the singing reindeer felt like a stretch but then it hit me, this is the big romantic song. The romantic power ballad about whether or not it’s meant to be and ultimately devotion to the person and they gave it to the huge strong Kristoff. This isn’t the only time Kristoff shows he is a stand-up guy, later on when he rescues Anna, his first question is “What can I do?” he doesn’t question her plan or bravery, only how he can help. In the first movie, Kristoff seemed somewhat stereotypical (his judgment on Anna’s engagement and remarks about all men, you know the one I mean.) but I think Disney really turned him around and made him such a good example of non-toxic masculinity.
Skipping forward slightly to my absolute favorite moment, “Show yourself”. Not only is the song so mesmerizing, and the lyrics are so raw and emotional, but the visual, Elsa’s transformation and the mother-daughter love that is so purely shown. I think all the songs (except Olafs) seemed more “real” than the previous movies. They weren’t as Disney-fied and probably wouldn’t seem too out of place on any radio station. The music score on any film is obviously largely important and is a main factor in my enjoyment of the film as 70% of the music I listen too is movie scores. The songs throughout are emotional and genuinely stick with you, in a non-annoying way. One of the most emotional songs is Anna’s song “The next right thing”, beautifully sung by Kristen Bell who’s voice is perfect for the songs gradual crescendo from the despair of losing Olaf, which is quite dark for a Disney story, and thinking she has lost Elsa, to her determination to continue, to fight. I know this song has such a positive impact on a lot of people who are motivated by it.
An aspect of this movie I love is that in the end, it’s doesn’t all come down to defeating something evil, for Anna, the right thing is to set right what her grandfather had done and sacrifice Arendelle.
The film ends with a surprisingly realistic acceptance of a marriage proposal and Elsa, finally knowing where she belongs, radiating pure beauty and elegance.
this is … quality art
Let's start the new year with some positivity ❤️

A WIP of my first ever leatherworking project. It’s gonna be a bag! And it’s gonna be adorable!
wait, you mean it’s going to get even cuter than it already is?! SIGN ME THE FUCK UP
That’s the goal, anyway! Progress:
Painting up the main piece! Gonna antique it tomorrow. Things are going slower than I’d like, because a friend’s friend’s goat chomped a hole through my glove and fingernail and it feels like I slammed my fingers in a car door. Hopefully it’ll still be done in time for Christmas!
Everything’s painted! Now I just need to antique it and assemble the bag!
Finish is applied! Time to put everything together!
IT’S DONE! Only glued rather than sewn due to my nommed-on hand, but it still looks nice enough! Better pictures coming soon.
It’s so pretty I’m gonna cry

That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

No one will know which is it
This guy inspired me to repair my own macbook. First of all, you should know that I am not… like, I have to look up HOW to look up what my computer specifications are. Tech, that ware either soft or hard, is not a subject in which I experience comfort or competence. But my puppy peed on my keyboard, and I asked the apple store, or the fucking mac cafe, or the godsdamn Computer House Chill Zone or whatever cute ass name they have for their bullshit store, and they said it would be TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE MY KEYBOARD. I’m not even exaggerating.
So I asked the internet, well how hard IS it to repair? And I saw this guy’s video, and while I am no techie, I AM fueled by spite, so I was all “oh, they do that shit on purpose specifically so they can charge me $1200 bucks or make me buy a new computer hunh? FUCK THEM” and I bought all the tools I needed for about $25 and I bought all the parts I needed for about another $25 and I watched a few tutorial videos, and I replaced my own keyboard.
So, once you are doing the actual deed, it becomes pretty obvious that they are finding creative ways to make this much harder than it has to be on purpose. On thing that stood out to me is, instead of all the tiny screws being the same size, there are about two dozen very slightly different sizes. They could easily be all the same size, or like, two sizes at most, but no.
These mother fuckers will take a panel that screws into place and they’ll use a different size screw for each corner. They are so close that you almost cannot tell them apart visually, but they each will only screw into the matching corner. Like, it’s a pretty clear “fuck you” to anyone trying to do repairs.
anyway, this guy is also fueled by spite, and doing holy work, and I have mad respect
This is awesome. Man is doing good ass deeds 24/7 because he’s giving people control.
How dare you not leave a link to his channel, this guy is the savior of the modern world.
i cant stop thinking abt the two headed calf poem like ;-; i feel like a two headed calf psychologist no i will not explain

A totally random sleeping beauty origin story in which the king and queen go to outside help to conceive. the gorgons, the creatures that lay in the belly of the swamps, slithering in the boiling pools, grant the couple’s request. they are loyal subjects, after all.
they promise that the child will live a long life. they promise that she will have great strength, will speak many tongues, and that she will strike awe into the hearts of men.
the queen thanks them, but before she can go they stop her with one last promise: if the child is not loved, then they must give her back.
I will love my child, say the two, and race off atop a shimmering steed.
9 months pass and the queen gives birth to a child, a healthy baby girl. but as time goes on, things start going wrong. servants start burning from the inside out, objects begin to vibrate from the toddler’s cries. the princess howls like a never-ending night, and nursemaids leave blind.
this cannot go on, the people hiss. this cannot go on.
and so the king and queen place her away from the castle’s inhabitants, far up in a tower. there she may scream and the world may tremble. there she may cry and no one’s ears will bleed. there she may live her life, among four stone walls. alone.
they send instructors up to the tower, one by one. a professor. a sorcerer. a hunter. a tamer. each attempt more desperate.
until there is nothing left to do. and so the princess is left in her tower, viewed as more monster than girl, fed by scraps through the door.
the parents do not fulfill their promise.
they do not give her back.
the princess, in filthy tatters and between clawed walls, pleads to be let out. i will be good, she promises tearfully. i will be good, just let me see them. I want to see them.
but she cannot control her nature, these sick powers she has been given. so she is left, often starved.
over time her pleas become bargains. i will not scream, if you let me see them once. i will not look upon you, if you let me touch them. i will not kill you, if you only let me be with them one last time.
none of these are accepted.
the princess turns fourteen. she grows strong. she speaks many tongues. and she strikes awe into the hearts of whoever she meets.
and why not? her eyes are yellow, like a deathly hawk. her hair hangs low, like the night. her teeth shine brightly, like the fang of a beast. her skin, though. oh, her skin. it glistens and glimmers and it is cold, like a reptile.
and her heart grows stunted. small. shattered.
they did not love her. no one did. they did not give her back, either.
months pass and crowds gather, swooping into the castle in courtly procession. the princess stares down in curiousity, but also longing. why are they here? what has happened below?
for the first time in her life, she escapes. i will not tell you how. perhaps because it is terrible and wicked. perhaps because it is clever. and perhaps because it is boring.
only you really know.
“the baby princess,” the people whisper to each other, while she clings to the shadows. “the baby princess.”
she is not a baby though, is she.
is. she.
and so the christening begins, golden plates and golden goblets set down. each numbered correctly, one for each guest.
the fairies of the glen. oh, how beautiful they are. their wings gleam like dewdrops in the morning, and their hair slips over their shoulders like the sun peeking through trees. they have made this possible, everyone murmurs. we must be thankful to the fairies, for they have given the rulers their daughter.
they all sit down to dine, and the princess–the eldest, the first born, the forgotten–stumbles in. her hair is lank. her eyes bleed tears. and her skin is cracking, old and scaly. oh, she is gruesome. the courtiers gag at the sight of her.
“leave, witch!” they order, but she pays them no heed. she walks up to the throne, and smiles at the king and queen.
“remember me?” she murmurs, teeth sharp but smile pleasant. she looks around. “every plate and every goblet. every person has a setting. except for me. now, why wasn’t I invited?”
“we don’t know who you are,” they reply fearfully.
“oh?”
the ground begins to shake. the guests scream. people howl, ears bleeding.
“you should not have struck another bargain so soon, you know,” she says, glancing at the fairies’ iridescent wings. “for everyone knows that gifts from the forest folk are not gifts. song, beauty, grace, wealth. are these all not useful to the fairies? and they will get their gifts back.” she stares at her parents. “they always get their children back.”
“please,” beg the king and queen, kneeling before their daughter. “please.”
the girl steps aside and walks to the cradle.
the guards surge forward.
“I WANT TO SEE HER!” screams the princess. the guards collapse in a shot of ash. “I want to see her,” she whispers brokenly.
the girl inside is like the dawn, blonde and gold and rosy. noisy, too.
“come now,” she soothes the child, smoothing back a curl. “do not cry. out of the two of us, i am the more ugly one,” she teases. “you are my family, you know. my own little sister, wound by the spring petals as i was forged by the burning pools. we are together, in that. they will not understand half-beings such as us. in fact,” she looks up at the court, cracked lips winding into a smile. “i, too, would like to give a gift to the child.”
her parents recoil, but it is too late.
far, far too late now.
“she will be yours until she finds my tower. on that day, she will learn what has been done, all your great sins against me. i will take her with me, show her the chaos you wrought into our veins by asking the forest for what was not theirs to give. thus, i give you this last promise: if she does not love me, i will give her back.”
and the princess strode from the castle, ripping the stone walls down. only the tower remained.
what happened next was simple, really. it was just the middle and the ending. every story has to have it, as you well know. but the middle and the ending are vague things. you will have to decide what happens.
after all, this was just the beginning.
This was the coolest version of Sleeping Beauty I’ve ever bloody read. OP, you deserve an entire novel, a film, and a whole crowd of dedicated fans for the imagination this sparks. Thank you for sharing your epic work.
According to Diogenes they’re settling things man to man
Really, no one was going to make the inevitable “chicken stock” pun?
This speech-language pathologist taught her dog 29 words, and he can even form full sentences.
Video by Christina Hunger
Dogs actually do have a language center in their brains. They process language just the same way we do, just not as well.
They do understand our words. This is not true of all domesticated animals (horses, for example, can only manage to distinguish a relatively small number of spoken commands…but boy do they know what you’re really saying).
They don’t understand “just your tone of voice” as a lot of people think.
As of 2016 the record vocabulary for a dog demonstrating understanding of words is over 1,000.
So if you give them a way to talk back, they’re going to use it.
The development of language skills is probably a side effect of domestication and of being kept in close contact with humans. A dog that was a better hunting partner would be kept and bred and over time they developed a better understanding of language.
In other words, dogs are pretty dang smart because we need them to understand us.
And also that is a very good boy.
Video description: A dog steps on various buttons on a large sound board, forming the phrase, “happy, ball, want, outside.” Their owner agrees to let them outside with their ball.

there’s a jump scare video circulating all over the internet. it’s titled 1444 and the thumbnail is a man sitting on a couch holding a rifle to his head, there’s a landscape painting behind him. if you see this video DO NOT CLICK IT close the app/tab. the video is depicts a gruesome s*icide and it doesn’t censor anything. there’s also a possibility that this video is real as it’s affiliated with a “curse.” turn off auto play videos here on tumblr and on twitter. do not google the video or the numbers 1444 as some genius journalist decided to include the video in their article. steer clear of reddit as well. stay safe guys.
It looks very very real. Please do not watch it as it is EXTREMELY graphic and triggering. This is what the background looks like. Please be cautious.
Not my blog’s theme, but important. Please watch out for this, scamps… it’s really awful that people are being exposed to this kind of content… :/
Also boost this if possible. We want a healthy spooky season. No triggers, no panic attacks, no disrespect, no suicide apology. Stay safe and don’t watch this video!
My friend just watched it on accident and it spiraled him into a fully fledged panic attack. He puked and he can’t calm down. I’m serious guys, don’t do this to yourselves, don’t take this as a challenge. Stay safe.
