Dave: “Love him. One of the great comedy actors, Julian Barratt.”

In a 1999 interview with Time Out, Noel explains how he and Julian influence each others performing styles.
Noel: “Julian is more physical since he met me. While I use a lot more facial gestures. There’s a fusion between us now.”
Today is Kate Bush's birthday! In a 2011 interview with Mojo, she commented on Noel's tribute to her at "Comic Relief."
Kate: "I loved it! I thought it was hilarious and I thought he came across as such a sweet person."
Noel: "I'm quite obsessed with the man/woman mix-up thing, though I'm not sure why."

Dave's Boosh exhibit opens in Sydney on Aug 3! In an interview with Heavy this week, he was asked: What would Howard, Vince and the gang be doing now?
Dave: “Noel would be running a record shop in Camden. In a back street, Camden. Julian would be two streets away, running a jazz record shop. Naboo would be selling drugs round the back of the record shop. Rich would be running his own hedge fund in the city….I don’t know. I’d love to know. That’s the possible thing, isn’t it? We quite often chat about how you could do it. How could you “put you back”? Noel’s like “how can I get into Vince again? Like, now. What is Vince now?” But yeah, man, it’s a good thought. Certainly could come up with a little reunion, fourth season….probably be all sat at the same nursing home, just rocking, looking at each other.”

On the "What a Great Punk" podcast this week, Dave talked about the Boosh reunion at Noel's birthday party in May!
Dave: "Noel was filming on the Monday, so it was very lowkey, like an afternoon tea party, rather than anything crazy, because we're obviously all old and fucked now, we have to drink green tea and meditate and chase our kids around the house. It was fucking brilliant and so lovely. When you've been through that stuff together, it's an unbreakable bond. You're like brothers, like family."
Another excerpt from Dave Brown's interview with the “What a Great Punk” podcast this week!
Dave: “Something magic happens when those two are chatting to each other, the juxtaposition of Howard and Vince and Noel and Julian…you could sit and listen to them all day. Just the way they riff off each other.”
Host: “No one does it like them.”
Dave: “And it’s still there, as well.”
Dave spoke with Time Out this week, about his photo exhibit visiting Sydney and Melbourne in August!
Dave: "These images are like children to me, badly behaved children with no manners but also beautifully funny, insanely dressed up children that are two-dimensional and don’t move."
July 21 is the anniversary of the Boosh playing the Bowery Ballroom in NYC in 2009! Julian explained to The Times that he and Noel had just planned a DJ set, then realized the US fans wanted more!
Julian: "Two days before the gig, people started coming up to us saying, 'I'm coming to the show!' We'd say 'There's no show', and they'd be all excited, 'It says show!' We went through a day of denial, saying, 'We're not doing a show'. And then we were like, 'Oh God, we're going to have to do a show'."
Mike: "I spent most of my childhood trying to be as funny as Noel. It was a real pressure in the family, so it was nice when he said, “Mike, you're funny too. You make me laugh.” Then he proved it by writing me into the show. "I've got so much to thank Noel and Julian for. Boosh has made me from this shy, self-conscious person, into who I am now."

In 2015, Noel told Mouth Magazine why he usually says "yes" to fan photos. Photos: Mr Jake P, Carole Williams. Knight Louis.
Noel: “I saw a member of Kiss when I was in Australia – Ace Frehley, the original guitarist, who I love. I chased him in the airport and I asked for a picture and he said “No”. I was so gutted. Me and my tour manager are big fans and we’d chased him and we were like “Oh my God! It’s Ace Frehley”… But he said “No” and carried on walking. We were like two kids who’d been told off. And then, funnily enough, some kids came up to me and went “Can we get a photo?” and I’m, like, “Ab-so-lutely”… That feeling you have when you meet someone you really love and they’re a little bit rude to you is… Do you know what? Actually, he wasn’t rude. He was well within his rights to say “No”, and I still love him. But I was gutted and it was like someone had taken all the air out of me. It’s such a weird feeling when you try and connect with someone and they say “No”. I don’t turn down photos anyway, but just then I thought “I’m never ever turning down a photo.”
