What does a pinch-hitter do? 

A pinch-hitter creates a work in the place of someone who had to drop out of the exchange. Pinch-hitters only create a gift for someone else, they do not receive gifts.

When we need a pinch-hitter, we will send out an email to everyone on the pinch-hitter list asking if they would like to claim the work. The first pinch-hitter to reply back claiming it gets to create the gift.

The list is open to all ages, but you must have an AO3 account to be a pinch-hitter.

If you’d like to get your email added to that list, send an email at any time before June 23rd to stonylovessteve@gmail.com. Just tell us your username on AO3 and let us know if you are okay with creating explicit works or are under 18.

Practical tip for those dealing with wildfire smoke now: you can make a very effective air filter for a reasonable amount of money using a box fan & one of those filters meant for your furnace.

Also, I've managed to pick up 2 of the box fans for very cheap/free from yard sales. Make sure you get a filter rated for wildfire smoke, I think this one cost about $20.

These make a huge difference in the indoor air quality.

Posting again because of the fire situation up in Canada and resulting smoke. If you're dealing with wildfire smoke, these are surprisingly effective and relatively cheap.

Just tape the filter to the fan, making sure the air can't sneak around the edges. I used painter's tape, but I'm sure duct tape or similar would work just as well.

The Muses are presented in Hercules as five goddesses who narrate the movie. Calliope is the Muse of epic poetry, Clio is the Muse of history, Thalia is the Muse of comedy, Terpsichore is the Muse of dance, and Melpomene is the Muse of tragedy. There are actually nine major Greek Muses, and the ones that weren’t included in the film are Erato (the Muse of love poetry), Polyhymnia (the Muse of sacred poetry), Euterpe (the Muse of music and sound), and Urania (the Muse of astronomy).

Songwriter Alan Menken originally wanted The Spice Girls to voice the Muses, but scheduling difficulties prevented the collaboration from happening. Instead, they are voiced by Lillias White, Cheryl Freeman, LaChanze, Roz Ryan, and Vanéese Y. Thomas.
